I have told them that nearly all the cars with these calipers fitted have the same sort of problems some worse than others and that they have 25 to 30 pairs of calipers to sort out.

Bob

Maybe if we/you mention that there is potentially alot of people waiting to buy these calipers once they have been sorted.

There is 25 on the 3rd rear hub conversion at the moment, who some might go for them.

Have done that at well
There are at least half a dozen who would once they are sorted even a garage in France has been emailing me, and to rub salt into the wound it was Hi Spec that gave them my email address and told them I was the one who did this conversion. I have had to thell them that it is all on hold untill Hi Spec sort the calipers out, work that one out!
Also as a point of interest Geoff stated that if they sorted the problems out they should be in a better position to sell more of these to the Elise crowd.
Lets not forget these were also marketed as an Elise upgrade, mus thave a look to see who was/is doing that one and may be bring more pressure from that source.

Thats a positive thing, Hi Spec obviously have respect for your expertise Bob, you've not only solved problems for them, your actually opening new areas for potential sales, (all they need to do is get their act together), the biggest incentive is more sales. Your their R & D man and they don't even have to pay you for your services  , they should be doing cartwheels to keep you happy
They don't even have to deal with the public (which is a good as their not known to be good at :chair:), PNM Engineering sell their products so they must have some kind of a working relationship,I have spoken to the guys on their stand in the past at Donington, and they said they have to make sure everything is correct before the customer gets it.

Will phone again towards the end of the week to get an update, just a case of pushing as hard as I can :(

Now where's that wall

It looks like they have promised they will be completed in two to three weeks and I was told all but not sure how that is going to work unless they go back through their records to check the colours etc. I can see this slipping but at least its a start in the right direction.
I am going to compile a list of my own to submit so could you all please check the disc size you have fitted and email me the details all I need is the following.

Lec username
Name
Address
Colour
disc diameter and thickness

Most of this information I have but it means trawling through 100's of emails and it is to confirm what I have is correct.

Bob

The two important details are colour and thickness.

Well it looks like the two week dead line is going to come and go but they have said with out any prompting they are going to start the run on Friday.

The colours I have or at least most of them
Monty - Black - 22 mm
Avonvilla - Black
Ailwyn - Black
Elanlover - Black
Surfer Phil - Black
Nige - Black
ABMunro - Black
ChrisB - Black
vi11ain - Black
mnemonic - Black
alexg - Black
MattDon - Black
Windy Farmer - Blue
paulwatkins - Gold
MPx - Gold
Luis Pinho - Gold
BigErch - Gold
GUK - Gold
Ailwyn - Gold
ChrisP - Gold
Alan_C - Red
gazza - Red
Router - Red
RichardK - Red
mvf906 - Red
AidenR - Red
Tom - Red
Mike k - Red
whippit - Red
Pit-Stop - Red
SteveA - Red
Dico - Silver

If any of the above is incorrect please advise!
The critical bit is then the disc thickness some I have as people have responded others not they are going to be either 20mm or 24mm the couple of odd ones I know about like Monty and Elanlover.
This is to ensure the correct calipers are built you do not want to be sending the calipers back because they do not fit!
The disc diameter is not that relevant as the bracket sets the height.

Update:

Hi Spec have said they have 6 pairs of bodies machined and waiting to go to paint then they will be assembled so may be done next week.
They are aware they have a lot more to make as I sent them a list with all the colours and some of the details I had at the time.
Of this 6 pairs I have 4 pairs with them that they are replacing, that leaves 2 pairs which I need to allocate Alan C is one that sprung to mind as I think his car is off the road, if anyone’s car is off the road please advise (Email).

They did say there may be a problem with two of the colours, Silver and Gold due to the fact these calipers will be hard anodised, not in it's self a bad thing but it does mean that they end up grey as that is the finish you get when you hard anodise. I have suggested they paint the gold ones but I there may be a slight miss match in colour front to rear. Silver is another problem as they would end up grey not silver but as far as I can see this only affects one person (dico) who I will contact.

Bob, if no one has grabbed the last set, my car has been off the road since early December waiting for these to get through the MOT.

Remember I don't want the logo so if it has I will have to wait for the next batch.

further update.

Looks like they are doing them all, but the 6 mentioned above are the first ones done so the others should be ready soon after.
So they have 66 calipers to make which may take them a little while to get them all machined as it is not just caliper bodies it is all the other bits that go to make them up.
