guys, can you have a look at this one for me, have a look at the pic of the front wheel.... does that look like the standard caliper to the more trained eye?

elan brake caliper.jpg
Well I know what its not
Not standard, not Hi Spec, not Wilwood, not the the later AP caliper
Looks like it may be an early AP caliper and it looks like it has had a bit machined off to get it to fit, not sure if the machining has compromised the caliper.
I think if you were interested god idea to check
Bob

its on my short list, as is this one..
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 492wt_1139what ever i get needs brakes, exhaust and chip, so it seems ideal, the other one looks nice and original, but with a question mark on the brakes.

Brembo and Ap racing are now under the same umbrella as far as I know.
Would be interesting to know what they came from as most of the usual suspect do not fit under 15" rims

I think you'll find that car is sporting 16" Feds

I've only seen two before, and one of those was at SGT several years ago.
Looks a tidy motor for a good price.

Is that Supracat's car? IIRC he's got a pearlescent white S2 with that sort of mileage on it.
Serial Elan owner: 2002 - 2012. I may yet buy another one...

From memory it 's number 695.
I had a look at the car last Saturday. Car looked ok just didn't have the wow factor for me - suspect this was down to the colour combination - I wasn't a fan of the blue hood or the blue seats.
Car was originally sold by SGT about four years ago, currently being sold on a commission basis for the current owner. SGT have just performed a big service and cambelt change. Additionally their trimmers are going to repair the hood this week - stitching is broken in a couple of places on the rear seem couple of inches above the window (not the window stitching)

Chances are it's this one then, the avatar is a picture taken at SGT the last time it was for sale there.
I know the couple sold the car on, and so I guess that brings us up to date?

Hi Gazza & LEC - Geoff suggested I get in touch...it is indeed No.695 and I'm extremely pleased to be the new owner of this lovely car - look forward to chatting on here and meeting some of you at upcoming events. Had been looking for about a year for an Elan until this beauty turned up - Is it true they only made 2 in Pearl White Metallic? Had an Elise some years back, a Bell&Colvill Sprint170 in type 49 colours which was great, but have to say I now can appreciate why you all love the Elan so much...what an absolutely awesome car!
Have fun all - some pics...
