The hand brake is offset on the S2, by how much I haven't got a clue.

The advert did raise smile,

Except for this bit:-

Yes. Its action is inclined slightly towards the driver -- another attempt to increase leverage methinks.

Now, if I were the suspicious type, who had access to a suitable computer application, I'd be able to see who had made the bids, and full details of their accounts, and all other accounts they'd ever had, (and still use), plus those of the rest of the houshold, or any other postcode, or anything else i wanted to look at.....

....who wants to put money on the 2 warring bidders (one of whom has a 'new' account with feedback of 2 [0% poisitive!] ) just happening to be in the same postcode area as the seller??????

Oh dear!

The current winning bidder is a young lady who I've known through Elans for several years (and known to many people on this Forum) as the ex partner of one of the Forum's founder members.
I wish she'd approached me for an opinion a little sooner than 90 minutes ago. It broke through the reserve last Saturday apparently and no more bids since.
I've told her that, to the best of my knowledge it's OK, just that we suspect overinflated price due to dodgy bidding. Apparently it's on in a garage at £8.5K.

Bid withdrawn because item was not as described. The seller bought a blank Elan Service book a couple of weeks ago apparently. Looks like whoever originally took the bidding through the reserve has themselves an S2. As Clemo said... stand by for a re-listing...

Does anybody know any history on the following car Red Elan looks to be reasonable value for money given the mileage - although it has been on sale for a little while (originally on autotrader a few months back)

M333 LAN was the first M100 Elan I looked at and I did post a write up on the forum but it appears to have disappeared. On the advert the car 'looks' very nice but it was in a very shoddy condition when I saw it with parts of the fibreglass missing and simply not running properly. Also if some members will remember from my first ever post I highlighted a discrepancy in the MOT's which WILL still be evident if any purchaser does their background checks where the mileage dropped between MOT's

Clearly someone has thrown a bit of money at it but I wouldn't touch with someone elses bargepole and in any event, and as Clemo states, they should simply state what minimum price they want and stop messing around!! :-D

Regards to all,

John

You can get those wheels in Halfords - in the boy racer section :burnout:

They don't suit the car IMO

looking closley the tyres are the wrong size 205-55-15 which would seem a strange choice.
