Stainless steel gear shift cables

By the sounds of things it is a transformation.

if someone had broken cables, however, their need would be greater than mine.

I might get a chance to try Speckys improved shift, I'm hoping to meet with him tomorrow swapping some spares!

I am a bit worried about the ease of fitting though, so if there is anyone keen to help to fit these and Daves shortshift kit, just get in touch. Beer and burgers provided!

+1 - shame we're a bit far from each other, otherwise a spannering day/weekend would be a good way to do it.

Don't worry about fitment, They're no easeier or harder than any other cables (N/A,SE AB)

I'm not to sure, but I think there's a write up as well.

I don't know if I'll have the Elan tommorrow, it might be the Ovlov.

Well all the parts are here and I've been sorting out the detail and getting the cables assembled ready for packaging up.
I am getting some long boxes delivered to ensure they make the journey safely rather than coil the cables which I have ordered and they should be with me Tuesday so the cables will leave here Wednesday ready to fit for the weekend.

I have done some fitting instructions all be it rough if you want to add any thing fee free as it will benefit all and I'll add some pictures showing how the parts go together once I have taken them.

I'll be happy to help (although arranging a time may be tricky)
I've fitted AB SS & cables to mine without a problem. I believe Dave's SS is easier & the cables should be the same process. They are not particularly difficult but do take a while when you are doing the job for the first time.
It took me a few hours to do each but I did not really know what I was doing & a 2nd person would have helped massively to feed the cables through.

A spare pair of hands would be very welcome, if you are sure you don't mind. Just not keen on making the car undriveable without being confident to get it back together quickly since it is the unknown for me.

Hi Bob. All arrived safe and sound yesterday (though no-one told me until 11pm!!). Looking forward to getting them fitted with Daves shortshift kit to finish off my mini rebuild and update. Piccys to follow as soon as I am able.

Cables fitted,smooth and self centering (another credit for Bob ) however there is still more play in the gear lever than i would like which i think is down to worn nylon bushes on the gear lever. Does anybody know if you can buy the nylon parts and if so from where and what would the part numbers be?
