Good to see everyone at snetterton :D can't belive how wet things were friday night. Henry and me were really fed up about the WR attempt but had a laugh otherwise  hope you didn't miss out by 1. Will upload some pics when i can

On a posiive note saw the stig pacing up and down in a layby on A11 next to a white reliant robin which had the roof chopped off and roll cage fitted :D didn't realise it was him until I was almost there or I would have stopped for a picture

The Sunday was a good day and great to meet up with some old and new faces.
It did turn sunny and hot after a cloudy start, there is going to be some red bits even with sun block just to make up for all the rain on Friday/Saturday.

A few Elan's on track

Excellent photo skills there Mrs Bob.

It was great to finally meet up with lots of you and a good day was had on Sunday. It is really nice to see that newcomers are made so welcome. :gathering:

Hope to meet up with a lot more of you all at Donington (or the Silverstone Classic for nyone attending)

I'll post some soon!

Cracking weekend despite the mixed weather - what a great crowd we are!

Heh heh! Great to be back with the Elan crowd! I feel fulfilled,

Superb racing went on. The Lotus F1 were awsome as ever. I am partly tempted now to swop Blipi for a Suzuki Swift though

Proper Glasto effect Friday and Saturday. Camp Elan had it's own moat until Sunday, with an extra trench dug in by Dave as he left yesterday, ta for trying to spray us!

Friday rain was relentless, we had one of us with a flooded porch, but spirits remained high (perhaps due to Shaun's home made vodka kicking around in our veins) and Camp Elan remained a close community. Fire pit was certainly worth bringing.

Saturday night's stars were unbelievable. Couldn't find Orion until Gadget man Graham oiked out his tool to electronicaly scan the sky. Was also funny watching Camp Ireland set fire to one of their flags setting of a spate of Chinese lanterns!

Dammit! Forgotten how to post pictures!

The World record attempt I still don't know if we broke, but being let out on track in the early bunch provided some good track blipping opportunities which brought a huge grin to my face and the imp out of everyone! :-D Fantastic track, done a good job on it.

Cheers to all for a superb weekend!

Thank also for the graffiti in Blipi's pink bits Shaun, yes I know she needs a damn good polish!

See you all at Donington

Great weekend.
I don't think SELOC like us much because the area of the camp site Burt gave us always looked like it would be the boggiest when the rain came.
I would have liked to get away somewhere on Saturday but the exit to our camp field was pretty badly cut up.
The weather on Sunday was great though. I have no idea if there were enough cars on track the break the record. Was the final figure announced?
I would have stayed around for a little longer on Sunday but I couldn't resist dropping in to watch some Speedway on the way home especially as it was only a very minor detour, so after the WR attempt I headed off the track & straight onto the A11.

Donington is only 6 weeks away. See you all there!

Rip it was only in the 300's so a way off as predicted. Maybe they should have let the under 16's on as passengers!

Anyway a few pics of the weekend

Glad to meet and catch up with the LEC`ers, Mandy and I had a great weekend. Ended up with a red face and forgot to put sun cream on my arms so were a little red after an hours driving with the roof down, ended up putting the roof up to stop me looking the same colour as the Elan

Were did you lot park up for the record attempt? Must admit enjoyed the 2 laps around the circuit and seeing all the lotus together.

BTW, with the O2 sensor fitted Pinky did 33 to the gallon and if i was a bit lighter on the throttle she`d do more

We moved to where loads of Lotuses were parked near the Bomb Hole end of the circuit. Bob, Gazza, Paul69, David EJM & several others were over there so we joined them.

How did you manage to drive with your roof up? It was baking hot, even when I got home at 8.15. I even took my wind breaker down to get a bit more air.

A few more Esprits would have been useful, but I still don't think they would have been enough.
The whole weekend seemed too quiet to give us any real belief that the record would be broken.

Hmm, shame to hear the record wasn't broken.

Still, a cracking track opportunity and what a lovely track it is! Would love to have a proper go there.
