Great to see a few of you up there on Sunday.

There is this vid I found. Its dated incorrectly and is a little dull (but that's the nature of a slow drive round a track I guess).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtR7EKBv7WQ

At least you can find yourself out there, which I won't, because of the absurd no under 16's ruling I wasn't aware of! That would never have happened at Castle Coombe you know.

I'll post a couple of pics later tonight.

What a fantastic weekend, even the dreadful weather didn't dampen the spirits of "Team Elan". A huge thanks to MissElan's parents and Andy for the Gas BBQ's and all the cooking; to Stef for the firepit (the only way to cook Graham's fresh eggs); to Graham for beer and gas when mine had run out; Iain and Dave for more supplies when everything ran out :) ; and to Monty & Mandy for their DRY seats on Friday night

Knew it was going to be quiet after last year's massive event and the bad weather on Friday (there were triple the amount of people camping last year I'm sure), but was really surprised by lack of turnout on the Sunday - did Norfolk police forget to open the A11  Shame we didn't beat the World Record, but means I can leave the sticker on the car :-D It was good having more space to see the cars without jostling with the crowds and enjoyed the chilled atmosphere. Good to see some new faces and cars, S2 688

The new track layout is really good and the elevated Viewing platform means you can see track action on almost half the track  As usual, the staff at the race track ensured the whole weekend ran smoothly and everywhere was clean and tidy (despite the amount of :smt078 on Saturday night).

Quote of the weekend, "Take note Formula One, you need a Suzuki Swift" (Race Commentator)
or
"He's over 65 and has a bus pass, turns up to every race and blitzes them all, goes home with a huge smile on his face" (Race Marshall standing next to me)

Memories and thoughts from the weekend:
My vodka is still flammable when mixed with red bull
Suzuki Swift is the fastest car in the world
LEF where were you?
You can fit a 4 bedroom house on an Elan's Spoiler
The perfect mixer for Whiskey is stars
4 Bouncy Castles and I resisted (at least when no-one was looking)!
You can fit an adult in the back seat of an Evora (see here http://www.flickr.com/photos/77938658@N ... 3306/show/)

Another good Elan weekend :-) DaveT, sorry you couldn't make it, looking forward to seeing you at the next event :-)

Absolutely, but there's always track days there if you want to organise? Count me in and I'll show you those racing lines at speed next time :burnout:

Here he is! :D

A true legend! From pole position to being stuffed out to 12th in a dodgy start, this pensioner fought his way through to WIN the race, all in a Suzuki Swift

What a legend!.jpg

And a great weekend was had by all - sorry I didn't catch up with any of you guys - was a bit preoccupied with an X5 full of band gear and a gig on Sat, and got directed to the (relatively mud-free! :D) parade car park on Sunday..... Will be at Donington though...

I bet Ben is gutted too.
There will be another time.

Ben gutted to...he has been looking forward to this and telling them at school about the wr attempt.

Gutted for you both, hope you're felling better soon. I'll get those DVD's sorted and post over to you to cheer Ben up. I'll message you about the ticket.

Thanks Shaun for the DVD arrived today....some nice pictures brought back memorys for a good weekend.
Looks like a good weekend was had at Snetterton by all, wish I was able to make it but it was probably better I didn’t with my shoulder and problem having with the car along with under 16’s not being allowed on the circuit Ben would have been a nightmare!
We should be at doninton so hopefully see you there and meet a few others.

Nah, forget that Elan. The Best example and the only car being looked at in that photo is the fantastic Blipi in her majestic milky haze! 8)

:-D

Welcome Thorburn. You coming along to Donington in a couple of weeks?

Unfortunately not, bit of a trek from Swindon and its the only 'free' weekend I've got in August so will be playing catch up on things at home.
