Lotus Elan Central

Just spoke to club lotus and they are telling everyone to contact Park Farm directly. details from http://www.parkfarmhouse.co.uk/caravansite.htm

They have plenty of space at the moment but suggest you book soon

cost me £13 for the night.

They offer the following facilities:

• Electric hook-ups
• Showers (token operated)
• Children's playground
• Chemical waste disposal
• Direct Access to Donington Park Race Circuit.
(Just a few minutes walk, leave your car on our site)

The entrance barrier is locked by a time switch at 11pm. Dogs are welcome if kept on a lead at all times, and if you clean up behind them!

Caravan Site residents are welcome to use the facilities of the Hotel. On busier weekends, we will open a separate bar with bar meals for the Caravan Site, but there will usually still be the option of dining in the Hotel. A new area is also currently being developed for larger motor homes and fifth-wheelers.

page 2 of the 'caravan site tariff' section sounds a bit ambiguous.......hope they let drunks back in......especially if theyve got a box of matches..... :shock:

unreasonable or noisey behaviour will result in expulsion with out refund...
you will not be able to enter between 11pm and 8am.....
unt zer vill be no laffinkz

A quiet family camp site with No access after 11PM

Surely that makes it unsuitable for both the curry and Saturday meal!!!

Buggering off home for the night & joining the Saturday M1 convoy is sounding more tempting.

When I booked I called in, confirmed fire pit was OK.

I think the locked gate is for vehicles so should be OK.

If no-one else calls them I will tomorrow if I get a chance, all should be ok though!

Ahh just read my booking and it states
To prevent other guests from being disturbed the entrance barrier is locked by time switch from 11pm to 8am.
There is an adjacent parking area for late arrivals, or for those returning late to the site.

so should be ok, they must be used to groups of people staying when events are on next door and going out in the evenings.

I agree David, instead of having people racing their bikes/cars into the car park (or out at silly o'clock in the morning) waking everyone up, they lock cars out of the camp site, so this really won't affect us.

Will me. They don't serve real beer at most curry houses & I find lager undrinkable. I don't have a problem avoiding alcohol so I was going to drive there.

Rip parking is still in their grounds so not on the road, no worse than being in a carpark when your'e out

Okay google maps, search for "de74 2rn". It's in the middle of no-where so no passing drunk kids to vanalise your car.
I'm just guessing but looks like 2. is the gate and 1. is where you leave your car if you arrive/leave in between 11pm-8am.

it will be as fun as we make it, by my experience it'll be great! they aren't going to kick 10-20 people off site (not without great difficulty) also most sites say this just to keep really stupid drunks out not decent people just having a good time and just a little drunk...

Rip - Just put a note on it saying "THIS ELAN MAY SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODE". That should put potential thiefs off :lol:
