You replied to my post regarding the shifter not being straight up. I have the Dave short shifter on my Fed car. I think I should replace the stock cables, rather that screw around trying to adjust them. (with no success) Has anyone in the States bought a set? Let me know

So the solution for US cars is to buy the cables here, then the Kit of Misc. parts from Bob? Have you figured out, how to buy them here? Are they Stainless?

A few pages back Brit-Car-Nut sourced some stainless cables in the US, but as far as I know, no order has been placed. They are a bit cheaper here.

Coincidentally, the guy at Midwest Controls emailed me yesterday asking if I wanted to go through with the order. The material specs on the cables from them are:

Rod ends are SS, Sleeve is brass chrome plated, bulk head fittings are plated zn clear (96hrs salt spray).

These were ~$60 for the pair if I order 10 sets. Don't think we have 10 people interested on this side of the ocean though.

The Midwest Controls, cables are probably fine, and an improvement over stock. I personally don't have the where full all to deal with them. Has anybody read the Road & Track Oct.11 review of the Evora S and the shift cables? (thanks to new low-loss motion/low friction gearshift cables and improved linkage inertia) I suspect this is what we are accomplishing with our car and these new cables.

Another line in the sand as I have just managed to order the cables which should be with me this week.
Would have done it sooner but there was a delay in the parts comming in to make them up.

Superbad, I was going to send your bit but had to use some of the kit to make up a set that were urgent but will get them sent off as I do this batch.

For those in the USA I have a price for the same cables as I supply here of $78.00 each which makes them $156.00 the pair + shipping.
Note: This is a price for pairs and not a bulk price as the interest does not seem to warrent buying in bulk.

As the only way to get a discount on the rod ends is to buy 10+ then they may as well come with the rest of the bits from here as they are not going to add very much to the costs of shipping and will save a bit on the items as I can buy more than 10 at a time.
The cost of all the parts less the cables is £80.00 or about $130.00 plus delivery say £9.00 ($14.00) so that makes the total price in $300.00 plus a bit for shipping the cables in the USA as I do not have a figure for that bit.

I think it may be easier if I handle the transaction from this end and have the US cable supplier send the cables direct to the indivduals and then my package from the UK.

That's fine with me, I have been swamped and unable to pursue this all week. John sent me an email with the details of what he had found (from a place in Chicago), and his cables were within $10 of your price, certainly close enough for me. It's well worth $20 for me not to have to deal with organizing this.

I think the $60.00/pair cables were in plated steel not stainless steel so not like for like and also need to be purchased in a batch plus I can not say what the quaility is like as I have not seen the plated steel cables.
One concern with plated steel cables is rust which is not a problem with stainless steel.

They were plated, and also I think they didn't have the low friction lining. If you're going to go to the trouble of changing them, may as well do it right.
