Las Vegas it is. This is a golden opportunity for those on the left coast as this is the furthest west LOG has ever ventured.
October 14-16, 2011
Red Rock Hotel & Casino
Las Vegas, Nevada
USA
http://www.redrocklasvegas.com/The immense size of the facility allows the car show and auto-cross to be held on-site! Very impressive when viewed with Google earth.
http://www.loglasvegas.com/ The site is mostly a shell at this point
The weather promises to be excellent during early October

Very cool - when I bought my car we drove her right through Vegas without stopping... so she's been itching to go back and see a show or at least get some free drinks at the penny slots.

During our cross country trip in 2004 we stayed the night in Las Vegas. It was cool having other tourists take pictures of our car. Some of the same folks who put on the 2009 WCLM are involved with putting on LOG. LOG will be at the same hotel used for that WCLM.
I was hanging around at LOG 30 when Bob Dance (currently a Classic Team Lotus mechanic and formerly a chief mechanic at Team Lotus) was invited to LOG 31. He was asked to think about who else would make a good special guest/presenter.
Some sponsors/partners are already lined up: sector111.com normbaker.com, lotuscarclub.org specialtycarcraft.org loglasvegas.com lotuschallengeseries.com
It should be a great event.

Great. I may want to caravan with you. My intention is to visit an old roommate in Seattle then drive down the coast to SF. Somehow I do want to visit: Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon and Death Valley National Parks. I'm thinking of doing drive by tourism.

The Southern California Timing Association is running there finals at Bonneville Salt Flats prior to LOG. If you have the time it has to be hugely interesting.

The 31st annual Lotus Owners Gathering needs your help! It takes a lot of people to produce a LOG and this one is no exception. What is unique is that the sponsoring club - Lotus Ltd and the local hosting club - Southern Nevada Lotus Car Club are putting out a call for volunteers to all attendees.
Volunteering is a great opportunity to meet other Lotus enthusiasts from around the world, work with them and help make LOG 31 a fun and memorable event. With one notable exception It is too early to start signing up for specific tasks and shifts but it is not too early to think about how you can support the world’s greatest marquee and its fans. Typical jobs that need volunteers are:
• Stuffing goodie bags
• Placing signs
• Registration
• Setting up and packing away the autocross paraphernalia
• Directing cars at the choice car show
• Counting ballots for the peoples' choice car show
• Unpacking trophies
• Distributing trophies
• Leading and sweeping scenic drives
• General gofer
• Chauffeuring special guest to and from the airport and other venues
The one job that needs volunteers to step up now is that of concours judge. Anyone that feels that they have extensive knowledge of Lotus cars that are 25 years old or older and is interested in becoming a judge for the formal concours d'elegance should express their interest as soon as possible. It takes a bit of time to be vetted and to become familiar with our judging procedures.
In addition to the above, if you have a special talent you would like to offer, an idea for an event or how to make this an even better event please contact me by PM.
As the planning for LOG progresses the request for volunteers will become more specific and we will be asking for people to step up and make a commitment. We won't be asking for a great deal of time, physical or mental effort. At this point we (the hosts of LOG and the board members of Lotus Ltd) are asking that you consider volunteering some of your time and talent while attending LOG.

It looks like the British Speed web site is getting many posts concerning LOG 31. A caravan from the east coast is forming that will be taking in some great sights and roads.

The hotel is starting to fill up. I've heard rumors that there are are less than 150 rooms available at the discounted rate.

This page gets you to a description of how to get the rate and the hotel contact information
http://www.lotuscarclub.org/log30.phpOn other boards there was some concern about an additional "resort fee". When you get the LOG registration this fee is waived. I made our reservations online a week or more ago.

I've just got home from our DC->Philly trip which included a stop at Gettysburg. It is a fantastic visitors center and a terrific drive around the site with all of the interesting stops. People will have a great time.

Randy, yes we did have a great time at Log 30. Can't say enough about
Gettysburg battlefield and the surrounding country roads.
Will you be attending Log 31 in Vegas

We'll see how it goes - my daughter is due in 3 weeks so I can't plan anything yet.

Bump.
This event is drawing near. I am hearing rumors of a big turnout, very good goodie bags and at least one wedding that will take place in conjunction with LOG. Our registration has been sent in and hotel reservations made. Hopefully our car will turn over 100,000 miles on the way to LOG.

Well so far there are only 2 M100's from Virginia that are making the trip to Las Vegas. Admittedly it is 2,500 miles each way via the direct route. What's the problem are Steve & I surrounded by wimps?

I’m confused

, this site:
http://www.lotuscarclub.org/log30.phpSays: 'This year's LOG event is scheduled to be held from Oct. 14-16th, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada.'
But this official LOG site:
http://www.loglasvegas.com/register_home.htmlIndicates (left hand side of home page): 'November 6-8, 2011'
The registration says October but the home page says November? 6-8, 2011
I'm showing up in October, hope someone else is too !
