Hard Top - Now Obsolete

As I've mentioned before on a previous page (in case anyone's so lazy, like I am, to thumb through them  ::) ), I'll volunteer to do the logistics and warehousing here in Houston, Texas. However, my barrister's bar examination's at the end of February, and my exam prep classes start in December. However, shipping to the States before December is probably not feasible. It would be more practical to supply the first few tops locally so that any teething problems could be sorted while I still have access to them. Shipping in February would be much more realistic.

Looks like $500-$1000 for shipping.<br>[/quote]<br>Cost to the U.S is hard to define at the moment but I'm working on ways to make it economical. <br><br>I would prefer not to ship painted hardtops due to the risk of damage in transit, and it would probably cost less to get it sprayed in the States anyway. However, it could be supplied in either black, white or grey.

I meant, what is the current estimated cost of the top itself, outside of shipping? <br><br>And when you say that it could be supplied in black, white or grey, are you referring to the color of the primer, or finished paint?<br><br>Thanks for all of your effort in this Kuching. I hope we can make it worth your trouble.[/quote]<br>The lack of clarity was on my part. <br><br>The final cost depends on many factors yet to be determined such as exchange rate, shipping costs and import duties. The biggest unknown, however, is the number of confirmed orders expected and this will only become clear when the top is further tested, developed and evaluated.<br><br>The unpainted hardtops can be moulded with a coloured resin gel-coat. This won't be an exact match to the Lotus paint but black or white should be pretty close and save the cost of painting, at least temporarily.

Fantastic Kuching. You do beautiful work. Really stunning!<br><br>Guessing most M100 owners would want one. Egg and chicken stage now though. You need to know how many will actually buy one, owners need to know what it will cost before committing.<br><br>I need to replace my soft top in this winter. If I thought I had a hardtop coming, I would wait.<br><br>Nothing is simple, eh?

Simon, thought the hardtop was excellent, only thing i couldn't see was how it was fixed at the rear, due to it being quite dark. Can you shed any light please ?, picture would be handy if youve got any. Anyway well done that man ! ::)
