It is October. This is the 31st LOG - LOG 31 being held in Las Vegas NV.

Last year's LOG was the 30th - LOG 30 and was in Gettysburg PA.

IMO the web sites are a bit strange.

Dean: Kinda looks like a phishing site hoping to get people that don't know any better to register AND PAY them for an event that doesn't exist (on those dates).
Since you know the people putting on LOG 31, you should contact them right away and they can get law enforcement to shut down the site.
I am sure there will be a lot of people that will be screwed if they find that link before the correct one. The "odd site" has gotten themselves into the search engines, so they can do some real damage if not checked now.

Hi Dean,
I know when and where Log 31 is, just as i know where LOG 30 was. What i was trying to convey was that the second 'official' log web site, that you provided a link to, has either been hacked or someone has made an error (if you click to register it actually has the correct date) something is weird about the website though, and if its a phishing site its a good one! (in a bad way  )

Sadly, my plans to attend have been thwarted by mandatory work-related travel that weekend. I will miss seeing everyone.

Bummer. With LOG so far west this year I was hoping to see a lot of cars and people that don’t make it to more easterly events.

On a positive note, maybe we can plan on a M100 special interest group meeting on Friday evening and/or a breakfast get together on Saturday. A breakfast gathering has worked well in the past. Once the formal events get going on Saturday I expect a long and hectic day.

LOG 31 Saturday night guest speaker is... Martin Donnelly

Postby DeanG » Wed 17.08.2011, 20:56

http://www.loglasvegas.com/martindonnelly.html

Martin Donnelly (born in Belfast, 26 March 1964), is Ambassador for Lotus Cars alongside Jean Alesi and Nigel Mansell. Martin is also Chief Instructor at the Lotus Driving Academy. Martin is a former motor racing driver from Northern Ireland. Donnelly was the test driver for Lotus Formula One team. But it was during 1989... Donnelly got his first race start when he substituted for Arrows driver Derek Warwick at the 1989 French Grand Prix ...

In 1990 he continued in F1 with Lotus though this time not as a test driver but as a race driver alongside new team mate Derek Warwick. ... he suffered a serious crash during qualifying at the Jerez circuit which ended his Formula One racing career.
He sustained multiple injuries in the crash, in which he was ejected from his car on to the track, with his seat still attached to his back. Donnelly has since managed to race in smaller club events, and managed a Formula Vauxhall team.

Well there was a good showing of M100's (for the USA). Unfortunately lotusgirlmarie was a no show and although Steve Matthews and his wife were in attendance their car was caught in a transport nightmare and never made it to LOG. I forgot to count the cars but I recall 2 red, 1 blue, 1 white and 1 yellow. The owner of the yellow car took a lot of good natured abuse about how the yellow cars were made from left over sub standard parts and etc.

I'm sorry I couldn't make it. Sadly between work and work as well an unexpected financial hit I haven't been able to make it back home to Vegas. amazingly the last my car saw of Vegas was June. It's sad really, I haven't slept in my own bed since then.

Your absence dashed the M100 fantasies of a few East Coast fans.

I hope to meet up with you someday

I am sooo sorry. No "dream dashing" intended. Sad part is technically I live in Vegas. At least that where I'm paying a mortgage. I would have loved to see everyone not to mention just sleep in my own bed for once. I love my jobs but they leave little time for social exploits.
