Wayne is otherwise occupied at the minute - congratulations to you both by the way. Personally, I'm in the grey plastic camp ("Where else at your age?" I hear you ask) for ~£20 a pair. Purely on price, I suspect the CF list will struggle to get to the numbers required to make it cost effective, so I think we need an OE list (especially as that's what the original suggestion was). Would maz_r, DaveB & DeanG be interested in this list if the CF list bombs out again?

No commitment as yet, but sign up if you would be interested in grey plastic OE door escutcheons at ~£20 per pair:

I believe we're talking spares of an obsolete component which has been known to break?
I'm happy to buy a couple & keep them for someone in need at a later date.

I spoke to a fellow Elan owner a couple of weeks ago about getting this sort of part made up as he is managing director of a company that does this sort of thing all be it on a much larger scale
The companys bill for palstic alone is in excess of £5 million so in terms of material costs will be at the absolute minimum.
He did say that they have small machines that they use for small protype parts and they would be idea for small runs like this and was going to have a look at his Elan to see what parts were possible.

I mentioned getting things like the weak hood header on the S2's and the B post caps amongst others.

I'll ask the question to see if these are possible
Any one got a picture of the back face to see if it will lend it's self to vaccum forming as if it needs injection moulding the the cost for the tooling will put it out of reach

I can dig out my CF ones if you want a pic of them. They are in the garage...somewhere
If I actually get around to fitting them, you can use my OEM ones for templates if that helps.

Cough, cough......

....i have a pair of CF ones sitting here :-D

One of my plastic ones in the car is knackered (been repaired, but not as i want it - and the epoxy only lasts a few months), so i got these.....

....should this group buy come to fruition i would prefer OE looking ones, and the CF will then become available.....

....should it not be cost effective for a suitable part, then they wont - as Alexandr would say - "simples". :D
