front top slider

Just been looking at the manual trying to figure out how i reconnect the front top slider ? i can see it in the channel but its not connected to the glass. is it in 2 parts, 1 glued to glass and the screwed to othe half in the channel ?

Hi, If I understand you, then there is a screw, thru a protective coller, thru the glass and tightened in to a spacer. The slider is screwed in to the other side of the spacer & can swivel slightly as it rises up the channel. It holds two pieces of tubing which act as spacers in the channel. It is worth noting that the top and bottom spacers are different lengths (can't remember which is which) they may be available from SHS.

Hi thanks yes i had read they are different so i assume its door panel off, door mirror off, persuade slider to get to the top swear a bit, refix slider hopefully finding bolt in door Re-assemble

Correct except there is only one roller, as Lotus call a piece of dia 8mm plastic tube! Screws are M4 and very short. Just replaced mine as both screws were loose, causing the glass to flap about. Probably a major factor in my wet knee syndrom all these years!
Doubt you can get to the screws to tighten without disconnecting the dreaded butterfly, which means stripping the door down. Careful on re-assembly as the glass / butterfly are mighty close to the door beam.

Thanks guys suspect the M4 is missing think it may wait untill end of Oct when tax runs out and I think about SORN for the winter

The inner one should still be there as it is pretty much held captive in the slider channel.
The outer one has a countersunk head.
Big problem will be if the spacers are stripped - one of them, the short one IIRC, is circa £22 from Lotus
