Southern Classics Meeting Sunday 25th September 2011

Postby TrevorB » Mon 26.09.2011, 18:48

Decided to take the Lotus to this meeting in Chichester yesterday just to give it a run and it was not a bad day weather wise so the hood was down so we left at 8 o'clock arriving just before meeting was due to open at 10 o'clock. Parked between an Austin Cooper and Ford Mondeo Cosworth.
When they announced that judging was about to start Lyn asked me what they are looking for, I said a scantily clad young lady drapsed across
the bonnett!! I then said we have no chance, I'm nursing a bruised arm!! :-D Anyway the judges showed a keen interest when they came
to 'Merlot', especially one particular judge who said that he wanted the keys. We stayed for the prize giving and to my surprise, despite there
being many other cars there, my Silk Red Lotus M100 won 1st (yes) 1st prize in the 'Modern Classic' category. Now the proud owner of a trophy after what was only a day out to another show. I'm still suffering from shock!

Very well done!

That's a brilliant result for you as well as being excellent for the rest of us in that anything that raises the profile of our cars can only be to the good.

Congratulations.
