Hello,
I've just purchased a 1991 Elan SE Turbo. I was wondering if there is a kit available for the rear light conversion?
Thanks, Kyle

Welcome
A lot of guys have converted the rear lights to round ones similar to the Elise ,The KIA Elan has round ones but I don't think there is a kit available to convert them , personally I prefer the original ones but that's just my preference !!

Kit? Not exactly. Depends on where you are. Surfboardfiller made a few in the UK and I made a batch here in the states. With both kits you will need to source the lights from either lotus or fleabay. My valance also requires a cloisenee hood emblem ala the last esprit V8's. Both options have photos on LEC under various sections.

Someone else brought some molds not sure if they were surferphils? And was offering to make them up, have a search for it.

Not sure think the costs put people off as lights alone can be expensive. May be worth updating your location as well

No point re-inventing the wheel without good reason.
Ray is correct, it was indeed MattDon who bought the moulds from Surferphil. I'm sure he can provide you some more details if you drop him a PM.
ABMunro also had a conversion done, but his only replaced the light clusters themselves, not a one-piece panel which also replaced the registration plate plinth.

Hi Kyle
I have made quite a few of these over the years, two different types of full width rear panel and the pods that ABMunro has on his car. I have a couple of sets which need finishing (planning on doing these over Christmas) so PM me if you want more info. They are not kits though, you would need to obtain the Elise lights to fit in them and the rear elise wiring harness to connect to the Elans.
Best Regards
Chris

I'm interested, if you can send to the states.

Hi the rear of the Fed and UK models are different, which means that I am unsure whether the panels and pods that I make will fit. They would require triming at the very least. LotusGirlMarie would be your best bet in this case.

I want them too, and yes the rear is different for the USA model, I found it out when I received instructions when I had my "locked my keys in the trunk issue"... Thanks for all the help, this site is really amazing, with amazingly helpfull people.
