Need new lock cylinder

Not sure thats what its called, I translated directly. Basically the lock on the driver side is broken, the key turns but doesnt catch. Any idea where I could get my hands on one? I have the KIA elan but I'm assuming the doors are mostly the same.

Have you confirmed it's the lock at fault?

Does the internal door lock plunger work or any of the central locking, try the other side of the car.

My first guess would be that one of the ball and socket joints on the control rods have parted company.

The door lock cylinders are readily available from the normal suspects.

There is also a thread on alternatives.

Lock kits were on ebay and after sales for about £20 a while ago. I would check as Specky said first as my passenger lock didn't work from outside only inside or on central locking and was link from door to lock had popped off. Was a real pig to get back on but ok now
