Floor mats

My car mats slide under the pedals however they do have the holes for locating on 'carpet screw ins' but my car does not have the 'carpet screw ins'.
Having read this thread I see that 'carpet screw ins ' can be retrofitted.
Can someone please tell me if you need to drill holes through the floor , or take the carpet up and fit them between the carpet and the floor ?

Better 'under' then OVER the pedals!
Had this in my MR2, and thought I experienced my last seconds, I could just turn the key in time so I wouldn't crash in a 90 deg bend...
Don't turn the key to far, or the steering wheel will lock

They don't work that way Neil. The carpet screw-ins are large plastic screws that screw into the carpet (not the body) and then hold the overmats in place.
I'd post a picture but they're packaged to go to HJ.

Does anyone have an up-to-date source for floor mats? None of the links given above seem to work anymore. It took me nearly 5 years of ownership to realise I didn't have any mats, when I discovered I'd worn a hole through the driver's side carpet!

SJ's still list them for £44.54 (Over Carpet Mat Set) about half way down.
They're reasonable quality and have embroidered Lotus logo.

Bell & Colvill also sell them but of an inferior quality to what they used to be.

I bought some nice quality mats specially tailored for the M100 from http://www.autotintdesign.com/
I don't think they are listed on the website, I went to the shop in Leeds and ordered them direct but you could give them a call on 0113 2891500 to see if they can do what you want. They do standard mats and better quality ones. I went for the better ones and had a choice of mat colour and edging colour for £39 the pair. They were fitted with the securing holes and came with the fixing pegs to suit.

I recently purchased a set from http://www.automatten.nl. Site is all in Dutch, but google might help you translating..
The Elan is not listed in the webshop, but I provided the company with a template to make them. The result is attached; I like it!

I just ordered mine last month from this company http://yourcarparts.co.uk/ . I just found this company through search engine and i tried to click and jump to their website and found mats fit to my car. My mats just arrived last month and I find them nice and good in quality. maybe you can also try browsing their product and see for yourself.

ha ha they can do them in orange! I want to order but I am not sure if I am doing this right. I can see from the link above this links to a lotus. I can choose type, carpet colour and trim colour and fittings using google translate but I do not know if this is the right car or if it has the log on it - I would simply want the logo in blue or black??? can any one help me please.. my order so far below!
