Been going for years as it is a good weekend of racing. If the weather is kind it is my favourite event of the year. Maybe see some of you there this year.

I now have the code for the "2 for 1" offer. It's via Club lotus and it is C12115 including booking fees, postage for tickets etc you can get 3 days fantastic racing for about £45 pp. This has to be the best bargain in the British motor racing calendar Just ask me or Jim (Muley) We've made the annual pilgrimage for the last 3 years

I`m not booking yet as i need to check on dates etc, got a few questions tho.

Do you have to be a member of CL to get discount?

Anyone else doing the camping?

I take it you just add 1in the quantity box and you recieve 2 tickets?

Got the 2 4 1 details in CL mag. Looking at dates. Hopefully be there with Minda. & yes we will be camping.

The reason i asked about being a member of CL is that when you put the code in it says

That sounds like you do need to be a member

Well, I have 4 or 5 registration numbers on my CL file (comes from swapping the plates round, not from having a fleet like Phil's)......

....if I do go, then i'll only be in one car......

From a Silverstone veteran..

The colour coded vehicle pass lets you drive the car into the centre of the circuit. The visitor tickets are separate. I have booked a pass for a car and changed it before the event (don't ask why!) - all I did was update the reggo on the vehicle pass with a marker pen.

When we camp we often don't bother driving in because the campsite is about 200 yards from the nearest stand and there are often big queues.

IF you want to take the car in all they are asking is that you provide the reggo which seems reasonable to me.

I don't think there are any other sinister reasons behind this.

BTW I MUCH prefer Silverstone Classic to Le Mans classic.

I will be possibly be doing the full weekend with camping , , will book this later after I've had a chat with the wife and see if I can drag the whole family along its school holiday time and for £7.50 a kiddie ticket sounds like a bargain to me

The only reason i was asking as it sounded like they check the reg against CL records and thought it was to stop none members from using the code. But all sounds good now then

Oh, I've given loads of people the codes. Nothing to worry about there..

Friday and Saturday would be my choice because IIRC there's a concert both evenings and Sunday gets very busy..

Jim,

Glasgow is a long drive so thinking of doing all days. What happens on Sun, departure etc, or should I camp Sun night and leave Mon am. Not been to Silverstone since 1990 when I lived in north London and getting out and down the M1 used to be a nightmare. Not been at LM since 2007 (5yrs ffs) and been planning Classic LM but life gets in the way. Had a Harley long time ago and bought another 2009 so Elan and LEC taken a back seat, but just spent almost £2k on a rear end rebuild so as I said to Mrs J, use it or lose it (she wants a boxster). So determined to clock up some miles this year in Elan, catch up with you, Monty, Dico, Rambo and any other old friends who are about. We can bbq some curried shite and watch the chunder bros chunder lol.
