Then we used Henwood which was OK bit basic but very near. Literally just across the road from the circuit.

We tried Litchlake last year but the map they use is confusing - shows loads of showers than they only use for the F1 weekend. The bottled gas for the showers ran out and they didn't bother changing the bottle on Sunday morning.

I'm proposing to go back to Henwood for 2012. Mark, what do you think? :poke:

Henwood (or Litchlake) will do for me Jim. Basic as you say, but it's the company that counts :cheers: Shittlebury (Woodlands) is definitely out for me due to being too far from the circuit, gates being locked, lack of showers, noise etc..

Shall we agree on Henwood Camping for this years venue then ?

For those that need it - here is a link to the campsite.

In brief,
It's a tenner a head.
They allow BBQ's but not campfires.
They have toilets and will have showers for certain events in the year - including this one :D
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Just to add that that "tenner a head" is PPPN. If you want it cheaper you could always do a "Clemo" and smuggle your passenger in in the boot ;-)

Crap! I've just read this and there's no Donington this year??????

Figures. There's a good chance I'll be over to visit friends and family in August and was contemplating attending if I could. :evil:

There is always Brands Hatch Saturday 18 - Sunday 19 August 2012, I've already got my tickets for both days.

Well that's interesting. We might be up in the West Midlands for a short stay but we'll definitely be in Guildford for a bit which is just to the west.

I'm not familiar with this event at all (of course). The website seems to describe it as a Lotus themed event but I get the impression it won't be much like Donington was. Does that sound about right? Will there be plenty of LEC'ers attending?

Mr. G, if I make it we'll have to share a pint to be sure! :cheers:

The information on the event is a little sketchy at the moment as it is still over 5 months away; more information on the event will no doubt be posted in the coming weeks, here for example.

I am going to assume it will be similar to the event that has been held at Snetterton, with racing and track parades of Lotus F1 cars of the past.
To include
Full support race programme on both days.

* Classic Team Lotus display and demo's
* Lotus Motorsport support
* Lotus Club Displays
* Inter Lotus club karting competition
* Huge Lotus trade village
* Fairground
* Lotus race programme includes 2 x Elise Trophy & a 1hr Lotus Cup UK race
* Full race support package
* Soap box race
* Special Lotus parade
* Celebratory guests from Lotus past and present

All for £10.00/day or £15.00 for both days that does not include camping, August should better as far as the weather is concerned but this is the UK......
I quite like Brands hatch as you can see most of the circuit from one place as most of the track is in a natural bowl, just hope they park all the Lotus cars together on the Southbank as they have for other events in the past.

Guildford to Brands Hatch Circuit should be less that an hours run but traffic dependant
