Caring with Cars 2012 (Sunday 20th May)

Postby trig » Fri 17.02.2012, 20:24

PistonHeads has organised another worthwhile event to raise money for a children's hospice , if last year was anything to go by then it should be a really good day with some fantastic cars on show

Booked in for this one again - it was a great day out last year, well worth supporting.
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Missed last year but thanks for letting me know the date this year Dave, I've signed up straight away and so far there are 298 cars signed up and a really wide variety. It would be great to get a few Elans together if possible perhaps meet up before to drive in. :) :)

Already, the list of cars attending looks fantastic. Really wish I was closer and able to attend. :(

Hope you guys and gals have a great day! I'm sure you will.:D

Roland,

It was a great line-up of cars, and a great day out last year (despite the rain for the run in - roof down 8) ) - the line-up looks good again so hoping for better weather - even if it tips with rain, it's a worthy event/charity to support.

Of course, if you wanted to make a weekend of it, I know a poor quality B&B fairly local - food is crap, house is undergoing renovation, but the hosts are okay, and the price is definately right ;-)

I think I know that B&B! Is it this one?

Seriously though Dave, thank you very much for your kind offer. Unfortunately, the operative words in my post were "able to", in that we've another event to attend on the Saturday. Local would have meant I could've just about made it but Bristol(ish) is, I'm afraid, just too far.

Really, really, really good event!

Not sure if I will have the elan out of hibernation in time for this one, but I have been known to make a good seat warmer  if anyone has space!

Seriously interesting kit at this event, and all for charity! What more could you ask for!

Cheers

Of course you can!

Morrisons WSM (O/S Costa coffee) at 0945 is only 10 minutes down the road, or i can call you when we're leaving if you want to join us on Northern Way or somewhere suitable.

We met up here last year - initially it was just somewhere for me to meet Iain (Blacknight), but then loads of others turned up and we had a bit of a big convoy following us up to J20, Tickenham (where the rain grew too hard and i had to stop to put the roof up), Failand Hill and into the site.....

.....I'll no doubt be at Costa for 0930 with a Hazlenut Americano in my hand.

I was hoping to make it but I won't be getting the rad back in in time (bloody manual incorrectly lists the top Y strut bolts as M8 and they're not going in unless they're stainless). Hope you all have a good time and maybe see you at Castle Combe.

Ronee

Where about and what time will you be at Hither Green? I ought to come off at J19 but if there's a drive in that would be better!
