M100 rally - anyone up for a get together?

The Lotus festival was a mentioned to make people aware and hence the link to the thread, but this thread was more about a meet middlish of the country.
I did also say a bit off topic, not completly just so that we did not end up in a discussion about Brands Hatch in the middle of this topic.

Just received my Club Lotus mag - it seems that they are really pushing the Castle Combe track day!

Seems they want to 're-establish this as a major event!'

Castle Combe also suffers from the problem of not being very central, if you live in say Glasgow it's a 6 hour drive and 140 miles south of Donington.

I've put out some feelers as to the cost to run a meet and track day event.
Having looked at the options and the costs it would seem to me that this should fit the bill.

Blyton Park (DN21 3PE) not ideal in terms of central but close, It now has in place a "NEW" tarmac, 1.6 miles circuit, Log Cabin Admin / Lounge Area, Toilets and an even an Undercover Paddock Area if required. Gone are the old tyre walls and numerous earth bankings. For Trackdays the venue has a noise limit of 105 dba static.

Did look at Elvington but it has a part concrete surface which is a little hard on tyres so ruled that one out.

If we can get 50 cars on the trackday and get say 100 people each paying a little towards the venue say £10.00 it should be possible to organise out own trackday for about £100.00 per car. The cost to hire the venue for our exclusive use is £5000.00 ish and there is a site to use for camping but there may be a small addtional charge for camping.
All it needs is enough people to attend and we are go, people can arrive Friday and either camp, B&B or TravelLodge then have a curry night or what ever I'll leave that up to someone else to organise.

So who's up for it on the 2nd September

Yeah, granted; but rather selfishly I'm only 5 miles away and it seems to me Club Lotus are pushing it, having said all that hitherto, unless your tracking, it hasn't been all that great, maybe it needs a boost!

Blyton does seem to have good reviews and looks ideal for beginners too. I`m interested but not sure what else i`m doing that month and see how the pennys are at that time wonder if we can get Dico to go although he did have a 20mph scare at Oulton

There is another date if it works out better and that's the 23rd Sept as nothing is cast in stone at this point in time.

I had considered the weather as there is an old grain store on site that could come into it's own if it is wet, those on track will just have to drive with a little more caution.
