Latest news is that the mould has now been made but the company is having problems matching the texture. They have sent the mould out to a specialist company to have this done. (at quite a cost to themselves I hope... up to now I have not been asked to pay this aditional cost

I just hope that it shows their commitment to provide a good replica of the origional part.

The final colour is also still under debate... but I hope that we will end up with the best colour match possible....

At the end of the day I am sorry to say that the project has been pushed back another week or 2 due to the texture.

I am quite happy to wait and get the best possible part that this place can offer.

I juat wanted to let everyone that has been waiting patiently for this part know that it will still be a couple of weeks before we see something positive.

Sorry for the delay.... but under the circumstances. I beliieve it's worth waiting another week or 2.

Wayne, most of us have been living with cracked or broken escutcheons for some time now.
Two weeks is nothing.

you are doing a cracking job with them keep it up

I'm in the middle of a refurb in my Elan, carpets installed seats at upholsterer, so a couple of weeks wait for replacement escutcheons in no problem

Good news We finally seem to have an alternative to cracked escutcheons...
I hope to have them here in the next few days so that I can compare the colour, texture and fit.

Looking at the pics that I was sent the colour varies significantly depending on the backgroung / viewing angle.
I guess once they are fitted in the door cards I will be able to take a pic to see how they look in comparison to the rest of the door interiour.

I have also asked for the Kia part to be returned so as we can compare the colour and texture.

I'm not sure how much room there is for change at this point. But if anyone can think of any questions based on the latest pics I can certinly ask
for any changes or point out any concerns.
