Postby theelanman » Thu 17.05.2012, 12:32

The 7th Annual Serpentine Charity Run
presented by
Cheshire Lotus Owners Group

Sunday the 1st July 2012

The event is open to all types of classic car and motorbike and will start from 9:30am at The Buxton Dome Car Park (the University of Derby Campus) and involve a route though the Peak District National Park taking in some of the UK’s most beautiful scenery. Entrants will be given their route maps at the registration point, where they can also get refreshments (tea, coffee, bacon butties and the like), and from where they will also be started at regular intervals.
The journey will be approximately 100miles and will involve several stops at places of interest as well as stops for refreshments etc and will culminate in a display of all the cars at the finish line in one of the Peak Districts historic locations (it’s a secret until you get there) around mid afternoon.
This is not a race and the planned journey time though the Peak District is to be around 4 hours to allow you to enjoy the scenery, stop for lunch or a picnic as well as enjoy your driving experience.
There will be an entry fee of £12 per car, which should enable a substantial donation to the chosen local charities.
We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to our event

Not sure if I'll make it this year. I've got another event on the Saturday and not sure if I'll be back in time for the early Sunday start.

I'll try and be there but can't promise.

Sorry Gareth

I may be going this year depending on the weather (My roof leaks quite a lot).
Is the event suitable for my 7 year old son as a passenger or do I need some who can actually navigate?
Terry and Ben
Hopefully see you there

OK may be silly question but the form has a date on it, do I just change this and post it to the address indicated on the form with the entry fee or can you just turn up on the day with said form and entry fee
Look forward to being there

Thanks for the invite Gareth
Me and my son had a great day despite the weather, may have picked the wrong cars to follow round a group of Elise that I found interesting to keep up with at times (but it was not a race), they were very friendly even stopping for us to put the roof up after the very shot bit of dry weather we had, some other interesting cars to see as well. Look forward to a repeat next year just hope to get the weather to take in what should have been some spectacular scenery.

Very sorry that I couldn't make it this year. It's the first year I've missed since getting my Elan. :(

Pleased you had a good day despite the mixed weather. I joined a group of Elises two years ago and found them very friendly and had some good natured banter with them.

I'll definitely be there in 2013. :-)

sorry you could not make it, would have been good to catch up.
I found that everyone was friendly especially the group of elise owners I had the pleasure of following round the peak district.
Hopefully my son won’t fall asleep next year and being a bit older he should be able to do the directions but either way you can count us in for next year, so count us in see you there 2013
