Second Ormskirk Motor Fest - Sunday 26th August 2012

Despite being brought up in Ormskirk, I completely missed the first happening of the Ormskirk Motor Fest last year.

Relatives of mine, who are somewhat "petrolheads", went along last year only because it was local to them and also out of curiosity. They ended up staying the entire day and said it was absolutely fantastic!

It's free to spectate and I think it's free to register/display your car. So, I've registered for the display and the parade on the basis that I'll at least have a guaranteed and convenient parking space.

Already more vehicles registered this year than last. Should be a really good day out.

A fantastic day yesterday at the Ormskirk Motorfest. Could not believe the crowds that turned out and I have never seen our Elans receive more interest from the public.

Day started very unpromisingly, with heavy rain at around 10AM but about half an hour later it stopped and then the weather just got better and better. The whole of the afternoon was blue skies and glorious sunshine.

There were over 300 cars and motor bikes there of all descriptions displayed throughout the town and park.

The Stig even turned up in one of the most bizarre cars/motorbikes ?? I've ever seen. I think he's been at the pies a bit too much though!!

The parade laps were terrific and even better to take part in. The three Elan M100's, that were there, led out the second set of parade laps for three circuits of the town.

HONESTLY officer my number plate just fell off

A superb day as roland said, a great mix of cars as well, i think we where the only make that had three of the same there as well,
it was my first time at this show and wont be my last, plus there was a doughnut stall just to the left of where we parked the cars,
the weather was kind to us as well, i ended up with a face a brighter shade of red than my car,

There was a supposed speed limit on the parade lap that we nearly stuck to, i then watched the old competition bikes ridden by what looked like pensioner's getting there knees down on one corner, so i think next year i'm going to let a small gap appear between the cars on the lap and show the spectators what the elan does best,
