Just got off the phone from Whittlebury. I asked if we were ok to come in sports cars or would a 4x4 be better. They said they'd definately advise against coming in a low/sports car and 4x4 was the best plan.

So....we will bring the sports car (er, Mx5 and leave that at the circuit) and come in a 4x4 for the camping

Wow. What a fab weekend!

OK, so first bit of news first, as if I don't post it I'll just get ridiculed by others anyway... Forgot my tent. The fire pit took all my space ok?!! So had to go back foor that. Initially arrived while nice and dry. Upon second arrival I was soaked and freezing as the heavens had opened for one last two fingers up to us mortals on land.
Thanks to Trig & Co for putting me and Shaun up in their cosy 'lounge' while we waited for the rain to cease!

And boy did it stop. Sun out and started a good weekend.

Truely amazing all access cars and racing - total top form selection! Fab club gatherings in-field. Fun fair, AA section where I got dizzy on the teacups! Great stalls (lovely picture purchased), Live bands (Ol Adam Ant now showing his age!), Old skool bus rides that took you around the site, air displays, parachute display helecopter rides and a whole hoast of things to see and do. Deffo needed 2 days to take it all in!

Grinniing, not burnt and my petrolhead needs have been catered for brilliantly! Can't wait for the next one! Pics to follow...

Sorry I didn't get to see anyone, I didn't bring my car in the end (put off by the weather on Friday) so I drove my Motorhome up for a better camping experience!

Great weekend racing in the end and the summer finally made an appearance and now i'm very pink having fallen asleep in the sun on Sunday!

I hope those new to the event enjoyed it and will be coming back for more next year.

Brilliant petrolhead weekend, my first time and would do it again , even my wife who has no love for cars had a great time and free fun fare kept the kids happy and saved me a few quid

Camping was way better than expected and we managed to find a nice spot over looking a lake with a short walk to the track, would happily use Whittlebury site again..

Some fantastic cars on show and some great racing on track

You wait all your life to see one F40 then..

You obviously didn't read the posts on the first few pages alerting everyone to the Silverstone event, the special 2 for 1 offer information and details of local campsites then Trig

We had a great 3 days there with lovely weather once the rain dried up after qualifying. Good to catch up with Jim, Andrew, ChrisT, D, Scott and Minda down at the Dadford road. Good firepit Chris - I'll be washing the smoke out of my fleece today

We even got a bit of a blast round the track behind the F40 procession. I'll post some photo's later

Apart from the rain twas an excellent w/e, even had a good drive back. For the money Dadford Road was excellent value, I do hope they covered their costs. Really glad to be off the 'B' diet though!

I did read the three previous post's

Shittlebury bookings stopped on Monday. If you want a pitch you have to turn up on the day and take pot luck ..... This post describing the camp site as shittlebury!
Your next post ... (Whittlebury looks really expensive for 2 nights camping. You won't be able to afford any bevvy
Enjoy the 2 mile hike to the race track. Hope they haven't padlocked all the nearest gates again this year )...............Whittlebury was only £50 for a family of 4 for two nights and only a short walk to track so again your comments for a first timer at this event were very unhelpful and inaccurate

And your final post when I asked how I would find everyone was to post a pic of an Elan but as you or any other Elans were not at this site on my arrival this was very unhelpful on the day before setting off , luckily Steff and shuan sent me there numbers and we all camped happily ever after

Trig glad everything worked out well for you. Dadford Road was £10/couple/night FYI. We did 3 nights for £30 - we went down Thursday. The site was virtually empty, so never had to queue for anything.

Rambo wasn't trying to be unhelpful just injecting a bit of banter something that this site is sadly lacking these days.

I totally agree trig.

Stef and trig made an effort, and I pm'd everyone who put their name on the list my phone number.
It was a brilliant weekend, only marred by the poor communication and negative posts by certain LEC members. For instance Rambo:

This would have been your opportunity to offer positive feedback and advice and say "oh, we are camping here, it's better because..., come join us..."

Hey, I ddn't even realise other LECers made it!

No-one responded to my Dodford campsite post either.

Funnily, I did think I saw Rambo's mullet flapping around in an Elan for the parade...

How sad communication failed, would of been great to of had a bigger gathering around the campfire in the evenings.

C'mon guys, better comms please!
