Are there services on the M27 before Southampton we could meet at then convoy in from there?

No, but there are the Winchester Services on the M3..

Forecast is for showers (I can bring a gazebo and windbreak) Cooker, too to defy the BBQ rule?

I suggest we bring our own food and drink.

If anyone is planning to go directly there - do not use your sat nav (you'll end up at the end of a lane where there is a sign saying 'You've used your satnav - to get to RVCP etc etc - basically follow the brown signs from Netley)

we then decided that Tesco at junction of A31/M3 would be where we would meet and then nonvoy - for insurance purposes we cannot be a convoy

Alas, no. I'll be in Timmy the Tino as the boys will be with me.
