Just called Bromsgrove - they only do VW Campers now - shame as they do exactly what I wanted - looking at the pics in the linked thread

Seems dear, twice what I paid BAT last November (& I thought they quoted high against some of their previous work priced on here). BAT won't do your steering wheel though!

A hide from Martrim is about £150 so that's 300 quid accounted for, the rest, I deduce, is labour.

That's interesting , no doubt there is more profit in campers but it's a shame, when having established a good reputation on Elans, that they deny themselves the business.

I got my covers from Michael in Taiwan.

It was a few years ago, but for 2 seat covers (4 pieces), 2 door cards, gear & handbrake gaiters and the centre section of an elise steering wheel it took about 4 weeks to make & deliver to UK.

It was a bit of a faff to fit the seat covers - not diffiult, just time consuming to do properly (to a decent standard), and i think another time i'd rather pay someone to do that for me - others at the time were paying a couple of hundred for the fitting (pounds or dollars, can't remember :? ).

I had every option - 2 colours, higher grade leather, leather piping and still got change from £500.

No doubt the prices will have increased a bit, but even if you got a 'local' upholsterer to fit them, they could represent good value.

see this thread for more details, or this one a few pics for the fitted job on my 'for sale' thread here
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?
