Bob, do we need to add £8 delivery to this = £154.00?

I do not know what the delivery costs are as they are weight dependant but they are likley to be £4.00 to £8.00 certainly no more than £8.00

Bob,
Well done for finding a source of bushes.
I've just transferred another £70 to your account to cover the cost of the bushes and p&p. I sent you £84 on 6th April, so that makes the total £154 as per Denny's post above. The bank says the money should be in your account on Monday (I've added the reference "John_W bushes" to the payment to help you keep track).
If the ARB drop links are available, could you send those at the same time?
Thanks,
John

Just found that one of my u-section top links has rusted through and wonder if there are any available from the recent group buy?
Grateful for any advice on this, please.

Matt,
I don't think any of these have been made yet. Bob's taken on quite a lot (front wishbones, rear upper links, front and rear anti-roll bar drop links), so we'll all just have to give him time as it's a labour of love in his spare time.
If you need something quickly, this is not the way to go.
What about giving Andy_J a PM? He's breaking a red Elan (Ailwyn's old second car) and has a choice of old style U-section or S2-style rod type for sale.

Thank you for your response - I'm a newbie, so don't quite understand the process/rate of progress of group buys.
I do take your point about use of this route for my rather urgent situation and I have now taken a more conventional way out, by arranging for a garage repair in next few weeks - expensive but necessary!
Thanks again for your response!

Hi Bob, has there been any progress wih this project?
Fingers crossed that mine will get through another MOT in August.
I would prefer to renew them sooner but if this is not possible please let me know so I can look for alternatives.

Bob,
Any information please. I need to decide the best way forward:
Try to refurbish existing until these are ready or source replacements now?

Bob, This is an email you sent to another member of this forum who kindly PM'd to me for information:-

Ah top links!
Another of the many jobs I must get finished, that said I can probably complete a pair as I have the parts fabricated just need to weld them up and your car could be a good guinea pig.
Problem may be the bushes as they are not cheap £24.00 each x 4 + delivery + vat = £120.00, I was looking into an alternative supply but have yet to complete that exercise.
If you cover some of the materials and time I’ll make you up a pair for say £40.00 but they will not be zinc sprayed as that will cost me £20.00 to get done on a pair, but they can be painted with POR15 so should last for may years.

This is outrageous!
You have sent this email to somebody who isn't on the original Group Buy list who hasn't paid anything up front and you do not have the decency to reply to my posts!
This is the final straw that broke the Camel's back!
Please refund the £154 I have invested in the project immediately!

Hello Denny
Thank goodness I replaced both of my rear top links just before this Group Buy started.
Hang on!! I replaced both my top links some years ago!! Now when did this Group Buy start?
30th March 2010 !!
Oh dear. Am I detecting a trend here??

I do hope you get your money back Denny, because that might be the start of a really good trend!

Good luck.

The Administrators/Moderators have been made aware of some unease within the membership with regards to the lack of information and progress of this and associated (by project leader) group buy projects. Whilst LEC hold no responsibility for this and similar projects we are sufficiently concerned to recommend that no further commitment/agreement to such ventures be undertaken by LEC members while an agreement, between the group buy instigator and those Members owed money, as to the way forward of this and associated group buys is sought. We suggest that all those involved in these group buys contact the project leader for either a full refund of their monies or a confirmed delivery date which should be expected to be reasonably practicable. It is our opinion that group buys organised by a single project leader should be restricted to one thread at a time and each project should be completely satisfied before another is started. As a group we cannot and will not intentionally provide a platform for any person to take money for goods and not produce them on a reasonable timescale.
This thread and others started by the same project leader have been locked and an exclusive area for Members to muster and air their grievances has been constructed. Access to this area can be gained by contacting me [Sy V] by Private Message (PM). We will update the membership of this area with any information as we receive news of progress.
A spreadsheet of monies owed to Members is being set up, please contact DaveT by PM to add your details to the list.
