I've got a dead pack from my car if you wanted a fed version. Though, I do believe all are the same on this bit.

How's this coming along Geoff? I know you've got a lot on, so since I'm fairly local to you please let me know if I can be any help. Personally I'm not desperate for them, with winter coming I only need the fastest setting and full heat!

I don't know if you noticed Geoff but these are available on the aftersales list now. I bought one but haven't fitted it yet because the wires are covered in some sort of chalky white deposit which I'm sure won't help the heat transfer properties! It won't easily rub or wash off, any idea what it might be? Should I return the part?

That is a necessary part. It creates a damper and heatshield where the wires get hottest.

Madbilly, I think the whole point of what Geoff is trying to do; is make a replacement part that is
superior to the Lotus one.

Okay, I thought the point was just get get replacements as they were obsolete from Lotus, so I must have misread the first post.
Thanks BCN.

It appears I only have the third and fourth speed working.
I have read quickly the thread and I haven't found whether the group buy project actually made it? Is it available somewhere?

I'm betting the white stuff is Sauereisen Cement #1 (or an equivilent). 1800ºF+ High Strength Ceramic Cement.

The original resistor assembly is still available from any Lotus Dealer. Part # A100P6033S £7.30.
SJs seem to be behind the times with their price of £12.30.

£7.30 is the current Lotus Dealer suggested retail price. I order a lot of parts from Stratton Motors. Tel 01508 530491
On bigger items I arrange courier services but this is small enough to send via simple mail. It wouldn't hurt to look at a few courier web sites to get a shipping comparison price.
DeRoure is Bell & Colvill, so a Lotus Dealer. SJs will probably also match the price.
