Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it
...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Fri 6th Jan
Thanx to whoever just sent the Jet Provost?? [I didnt think any were left airworthy] to fly over my house 1130. Did a roll right over the top and flew on toward Ipswich. Now all I need is the two Mustangs to come again and display over Raydon- their old base near here. Glorious day for flying and the Provost was the last one I had to myself without hundreds of other holiday makers. Another flight in the old Blackburn B2 would be good today.

Just a quick update...
"Just Jane" is to fly again!
she will be flown out of East Kirby by BBMF pilots whom normally fly "The City of Lincoln".
So the UK will have two flying Lancasters....Whoop whoop!
Can't wait to see them fly together!

It makes our photograph session with "Just Jane" all the more impressive.

If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... The N/A-Team.

Excellent news, especially given the story behind the plane..

My father-in-law "drove" a Mosquito during WW2, a stripped out version for photo-recon over the Atlantic convoys and then through the Middle East
He said it was like giving a 19 year old a Ferrari F1 car and telling him to enjoy himself
I saw the pictures he took of the anti-aircraft fire coming up at him and thought it probably had its drawbacks

Can you remind on date and location for this event please?
Thanks!

Is it not an annual event? Or am I recalling another car/plane event?

Looking at Steve's caption, it was 2009. Doesn't seem like 4 years ago but it isn't an annual event.

I'm not sure but I think I saw the Mosquito at the Fighter Factory museum in Virginia. Every year they have an antique car show. The very rich guy who owns the museum (i.e., tax dodge) has some wonderful airplanes. Over the last few years I saw a few aircraft there than I had never seen before (P26, Mosquito, several Russian aircraft from WWII through the end of the cold war...)
