There is normally a convoy of up to 10 cars going up the M1 saturday morning. People say where they are going to join M1, wait in services and get a phone call when convoy is approaching. You leave at a slow speed. Convoy overtakes you then you just join the back. Simples!
I find the M1 convoy more enjoyable than the services-track one - rip.

I have a doctor's appointment in Bromsgrove at 0800, so some spirited driving will be required to get to the services for 0930.
I intend to make it, but do NOT wait for me. I know the way from there to Donington - funny old thing! May I suggest that you/we park in the overflow car park out of choice, as I'm not aware of anyone having approached Club Lotus to cordon off an area of the Main Car Park for our use (and it just tends to piss the masses off to be honest).

I'm not sure I'll make it in time for the convoy, it'd have to be a pretty early start from Cheltenham to get there for 0930 AND enjoy the drive (I don't want to just blast up the motorway).

That would be a pity. The convoy can generate quite a buzz (if other cars don't insert themselves).
I am sure the afternoon drive will be enjoyable though. I expect you'll be in time for that.

Unfortuantely I'll probably miss the afternoon drive too because I've got to go to Sheffield for the afternoon, but there'll always be next year!

I've rearranged the doctor's appointment so we should be there in plenty of time. This'll be the first time that I've ever had to queue with the great unwashed for entrance tickets though... unless anyone has any spare, of course.
