Convoy from Brissol

Postby GeoffSmith » Thu 18.04.2013, 18:21

At a time to suit the pink one as I'm now semi-retired and having lounged around all of today (my pre-Saturday) I'm ready for the drive tomorrow (my pre-Sunday).

With all the time off on the club, I thought you'd retired years ago

Well, firstly, the convoy starts at W-s-M, NOT Bristol (or at least, it may do, depending on Paul collecting Oliver from school).

Secondly, if it doesnt, I will be aiming to leave home at about 1400 (ish) - but flexible. Angie is working until 1330, so can't go before then - but could go later, just wanting to minimise the Friday pm traffic on M42.

I need to get petrol, so how does 1445 at Mickey North sound?????
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Seeing as how you have spurned my generous offer of a free tea and coffee stop. I'll wave as you zoom past on the M42 and see you at the Travelodge :poke:

Looking forward to the w/e now - it's really nearly here......

Not planning to go that way being as it is Friday through the M4/5 roadworks so thought I'd use the A417 to the M5 and then up from there; my wife is working in the morning so unable to work out a start time!

And I usually have a coffee stop at Hopwood Park.....

.......(according to Google Maps it's 1 hr 3mins from Michaelwood to Hopwood Park - so allowing for traffic, and Geoff being fasionably late, I would hope to get there about 1600-1630????)

Change the 1545 / 1600 entries - we're going to Solihull instead!!!!!!!

All the best plans of men and mice and I don't seem to be able to now leave as early as I hoped. Oliver is now coming back to Weston on the train as he has tennis training at school in Bristol so I won't be picking him up from school. Also due to unforeseen situation at work I will have to leave Weston later (the joys of running a business)!!! :banghead:
So I will see you at the Travelodge probably Saturday morning as I guess we will arrive after you have gone for a curry, and have a good drive up. :burnout:

Well, we now have a variety of options!!!!

I'll be at Mike North at the right(ish) time and we'll take it from there.

If we can meet up with Pete, great.

Then it's just a decision of whether we drink tea at Martins, or stop at Hopwood and meet him on the road, or whatever else happens (all depends on the traffic I suppose)....

...Not being one to hijack anyone elses thread - Geoff, you're in charge

Despite my earlier comment, assuming my wife gets away from work we will try to meet up at Michaelwood at 1445 (I have 85% confidence) but now I have a number for you I can text to keep you apprised should this differ.

Where is this coffee stop - Solihull? I'll follow anyone for a good coffee!!!

Finally, where is this 'Brissol' place?
