North West mini convoy to Donington Sat 20 April

It's Donington in just under two weeks. So here goes for a North West mini convoy.

For the past few years, there's been a NW mini-convoy to the Donington Lotus Show on the Saturday morning. Timings are usually such that we arrive at Donington Services in good time for the mass convoy in.

We generally meet up at the Tesco store car park in Macclesfield and then "career" across the "Cat 'n Fiddle" (it remains a good run despite the cameras) to Buxton and onwards to Donington Services.

It takes about one and a half hours to get from Macclesfield to the services, so we meet up at around 7AM to 7:15AM. All subject to the main convoy timings.

Hi there, I will be attending Donington for my first Lotus event and would be happy to meet up with a few people and tag along if that would be OK

Only there for the one day so would be good to be there nice and early, need to allow time for me to get to Macclesfield for the early dart so there won't be much of a lie in for me then

rob p i'm in southport so if you wont we can meet up and blast over to maccelsfield ,

dont worry about getting there nice and early, once the elans convoys done, you have loads of time to walk around, only takes ten min's at a slow pace

Rob/Tim that's great, I always feel there should be a minimum of three cars for it to be legitimately called a convoy!

It'll be good to meet up with you again Tim and also meet you for the first time Rob.

Are you both still happy with the Macclesfield route? It certainly isn't obligatory and other suggestions are welcome if it makes the journey easier for those driving longer distances. I'm happy to fit in with any alternative that might be "better". Please post here or PM me if there are any other suggestions.

If you're coming over the Cat and Fiddle and then down the A515 (nice drive even with the daft 50mph limits) I could meet up with you at the layby just before the Jug and Glass pub near the Monyash turn.

As the new boy in town (even though I'm an old boy ) I'll fall in line with what others feel is good, just looking forward to getting to know a few M100 owners and getting to know my car a little more, not to mention seeing a whole host of M100's and picking the owners brains on mods I might need

only ask as iv'e always gone down m6 till J19 then across to Macclesfield, i can go m58 to m6 or drive up to you then down m6, dont mind either way

Live close by the Junction of the M6 and M55, suggest you stick to the normal route M58 and we can pick you up at the junction as you join the M6 and tuck in and follow you to Macclesfield if that is OK

Well, it seems as though it's the Macclesfield route again this year.

Hi Pete, it'll be good to have you tagging along with us again. We'll slow down approaching the lay-by and if you're not there we'll stop for a little while to give you a chance to join up. Not sure what time we'll be passing but I'm sure you'll be able to make a pretty good guess. I'll PM my mobile number to you just in case you need it.

We're up to 31/2 Elans now and it's "the more the merrier", so if anybody else fancies joining in add yourself to the list or just turn up on the day. All are welcome!!
