Donington have lost the plot.

Like Sy, I really enjoy Castle Combe. It has a very different feel to the Donington festival although the circuit have screwed that up for us in the past by holding an MX-5 race meet the following day.

I did't get to the show this year, real shame about the problems but as Dave said at the start, it's mostly about meeting up with other LECcers. I'd be interested to know what the feedback is to CL from their members - does anyone know?

Frankly, the exhibition hall has been a bit tedious since the first visit and Malvern showed what it could be like away from the dark echoing shed of a building.

But what makes Donington is the LEC organised events and they were even better this year with the addition of the afternoon run and the late evening malt whisky tastings at the Travelodge.

I e-mailed Alan at Club Lotus on Sunday regarding the lack of Lotus Only car parking space at the weekend, I got a reply today and would post it I could find how!!!
But in short, Donington failed to uphold an agreed provision of Lotus only parking by not telling the stewards of the arrangements.I will post the full e-mail when I find how.

If we want to see changes in the future, I think it best if individuals send their feedback to Club Lotus.
Whilst we had no official presence this year, I will respond on behalf of LEC to this (the text of an email attachment I received today)...

We want to thank you for exhibiting at our recent Club Lotus Show and Festival at Donington and for helping to make the weekend another great success. Once again the overall standard of trade stands and displays was very high and the effort made by everybody with the appearance of their stands is much appreciated and adds immensely to the event.
Many exhibitors and visitors said this year was ‘the best show yet’ and we hope it was a commercial success for you. The new live technical sessions led by Brian Angus and Brian Buckland were very popular as were the regular live practical demonstrations on many stands. These were complemented by a fantastic selection of unique, historic and rare Lotus cars of all ages. Our thanks to all who brought cars along and helped us assemble these special displays over the weekend.
As always we welcome your thoughts on this and any other aspect of the show and how we can make it better next time. We’re always happy to receive constructive criticism and suggestions as our first priority is to provide you with a quality audience of genuine Lotus enthusiasts with money to spend.
