The 30% discount is NOW until the end of June, for ALL LEC members. The Federal Hose Group Buy list is just to save on the shipping costs. The discount is because we are ordering a lot of hoses. The Federal Group Buy is being held up getting the missing hoses resolved. Anyone that wants to take advantage of the 30% discount can order right away. James will add you to his list and process them when the full order is processed - We hope in around 2 or 3 weeks.

On another note, the UK member that got the sample Turbo Hoses finally confirmed those hoses fit correctly. The Turbo, Induction and Ancillary Hose Kits are now available to the UK and everywhere except the Federal Models. Amber has a set of Federal Turbo Hoses and is sending them to Samco now for confirmation of build costs.

Fubar - what the #@$ is the color scheme you're going for? The Seychelles flag?

I can't decide if I should go for black or yellow. Has anyone with a NMY elan installed yellow Samco hoses? I rather like this look, which is body-color hoses for all but the big two on top.


And finally, why isn't anyone getting the jubilee clips for the rest of the hose kits other than the main one? They seem to be reasonably priced, under USD$3 each. Or are they available locally for less?

Yellow hoses are pretty but hard to keep clean. A lot of people go with blue hoses with the yellow car.

I decided I would stick with stock black.

Jubilee clips are always a matter of choice. I believe the ones from Samco are Stainless and a bit wider than the normal thin stainless clips found elewhere. They are well made so they stand up to the extra tightening required to seal the silicone hoses. A good investment...

You can get the Turbo hoses, Induction and Ancillary hoses in the color of choice too.

Thanks - that's useful information. I just removed my radiator for repair or replacement and the disconnected stock hose connections have DEEP clip compressions (yes that would be expected on ~22 year old hoses). The clips themselves are in fine condition. The new information (to me anyway) is that the Samco clips are a bit wider and silicone hoses require extra tightening to seal - so I'll add the jubilee clips to my request. I may revise my color choice - it looks like we still have a few days to finalize things?

Yes, there is a bit more time as we are waiting for Samco to measure and compare a set of Fed Turbo Hoses with the UK versions they already make.

According to Samco/Amber, the jubilee clips they supply have a softened edge.....on woodwork I'd call it a rolled edge, I don't know what it is called on metalwork.

Comparing the ones I received to the cheapo Sealeys I bought to make up gaps in my pipework, I'd say Samco/Amber jubilee clips are definitely thicker and have smoother edges, causing less damage to the hoses - the hoses are stronger being modern, but I'd still say its a good choice.

They are a bit smaller on the worm screw head, guessing 6mm instead of the standard 7. Neater imho.

Inside the Samco box, which I threw away today, I noticed they mentioned they produce silicon cleaning wipes.

In order of cost, Planet Polish Wheel Seal & Shine, Meguiars Engine Dressing, Gtechniq EXOv2 (or 1, which only works above 20 degrees C, put it on warm hoses!), or Permanon Supershine will all bond to silicon without damaging it (usual disclaimers apply) and prevent to varying extents, adhesion of dirt.

I'll use Engine dressing up until I get a deal on Exo1 then rub it on everything. I've just done my Audi in Exo2 amongst a full Gtechniq makeover and its holding shine pretty good, paint looks extraordinary - the real proof is what its like after a month or two road abuse. All other Gtechniq products have never been anything other than exemplary - and a little goes a long way.

Good News!

Finally got the last bit of info on the Fed Turbo Hose Kit. It is now part number TCS583 and £113.65 retail.

There are so many options with each hose kit, it is really difficult to put up a simple table of prospective costs.

I will post a new chart shortly.

We have crunched the numbers and it really isn't less expensive to order all hose sets at once and ship to one address - rather, it is more expensive since the Duty and Tax will be higher than a single order (each shipment gets a small discount). The cost of re-shipping the hoses also makes the direct order approach a little bit less expensive.

Since the offer for the 30% discount is only valid until the end of June or when we place the final order (whichever is sooner), we need to get formal confirmations that you are definitely in for the buy.

If you are OUT, we need to know that too.

We don't want to drag this out for 4 more weeks so: Confirm your intent ASAP. Place your order and payment with Amber Performance ASAP.

Pete: You are almost correct. The price for the Jubilee Clips is less for the UK SE and S2 (£23.89) since there are less hoses. Remember, you need to add VAT to your price calculations.

Hi John!

I bought a Samco set about 5 years ago; nearly everything fit (or could be made to fit) but the kit was lacking the "double 90" elbow at the radiator (US driver's side). Is that the "TB4480" hose listed at the bottom of the spreadsheet? If yes, I'll definitely take one, so it's back through the thread I go to figure out how to order.
