Hi John!

I bought a Samco set about 5 years ago; nearly everything fit (or could be made to fit) but the kit was lacking the "double 90" elbow at the radiator (US driver's side). Is that the "TB4480" hose listed at the bottom of the spreadsheet? If yes, I'll definitely take one, so it's back through the thread I go to figure out how to order.

I just spoke with James and he corrected my misunderstanding as to the easiest way to order:

Go to the website: http://www.amber-performance.co.uk and on the left, go to the Samco Sport pages. Select Samco Car Hose Kits then Lotus and then Elan.

Add the appropriate hose kit(s) to your order and go to checkout. Fill in all of your details and continue with the checkout. You CAN place the order without creating an account.

When you get to the payment page, before putting in your payment method, fill in PURCHASE CODE LEC to get the 30% discount.

Add your payment method and submit your purchase.

UK buyers will see the correct total price including VAT and delivery. Non-UK buyers will just see the price for the hose kit(s) they ordered. Shipping will be added based on the location. US buyers will be charged £34.95 for the Coolant Hose Kit and 34.95 for any or all of the other hoses as they will all fit in the second box. If the US order is just for the Turbo, Induction or Ancilliary hoses, the shipping will be £34.95 for one or all of those three. I hope that makes sense.

Because a lot have asked James for the process but few have actually placed orders, James is holding the order window OPEN for 2 more weeks.

I've just placed my order. Hoses, clips, the lot. A hefty investment, but it is a lot of tubes and it is worth it to me for the likely reliability that will result. The full discount is applied with the discount code: 'LEC'.

Is there anything else which I should replace while I am at it? For example, there is a rusty-looking pipe visible when peering through the OS wheelarch. I haven't figured out what it is yet.

I honestly can't tell you what else you might need. Some of the metal tubing is still available from Lotus, so try to figure out what you need and use the Parts Guide V6 to get the current part numbers. The DeRoure website ( http://www.deroure.com/ )is current and will confirm what is still available and their price is directly from the Lotus price book. ANY Lotus DEALER can order the parts for you at that same price. Cooling hoses is Plate 46.01A. There were a LOT of changes and it gets complicated, butlook at your car and then the diagram to see which variation you have.

The only other thing that our cars desperately need is new weatherstripping. Mine's okay but I'd love to replace it. I've seen a few attempts but no successful newly minted parts.
