Started well on Friday with warm sunny drive hood down from Midlands up to Borrowdale. Good evening meal, lots of wine and friendly chat.
Saturday was a typical Lakes day, ie it rained. Managed to avoid most of it and went for a (hood up) drive around Windermere, visiting a couple of NT properties.
The evening was spent watching/listening to a presentation from 3 members (and wives) of their road trip along Route 66 from east to west in rented Mustangs. Fascinating trip, lots of wonderful scenery and interesting reactions to "Brits abroad". Followed that with more good food and wine and chat late into the next morning.
Sunday dawned bright and sunny: no I lie: it was p*****g down
Some pics below showing lovely weather on Friday and subsequent rain on Sunday, along with picture of small cottage I am restoring (hence late post) and my concours trophy

Happy days: car ran fine all the way there and back. Long may it continue
