The white SE is mine.
Your red'n looked great as you drove past and is the first Elan I have seen on the road since I got mine nearly 3 months ago now.
Do you have an aftermarket exhaust fitted, your car sounded much better than mine.

Green Elan (with top up!) on North Circular near Hangar lane yesterday. We were Custard SE with top down.

Did 110 (-ish) miles Essex-Richmond and back all with top down. Car performed well, but did get very hot in bad traffic (near Wembly) on way back. In the end I put the heater on, and that cooled it off a bit.

Was going to have a closer look but it abruptly pulled off onto a slip-road and stopped with it's hazards on.

Early Sunday evening?
I saw a Calypso Elan heading west on the M4 between the A406 & M25 at about 4.45pm. Possibly the same one?
I was heading the other way in a light blue Esprit. 2 cars ahead of me was a copper Esprit.

I had a great run down to this show with the Westfield and the Porsche parked next to me in the pic and also a TVR Tuscan , all were impressed with how quick the Elan was and bit shocked it was only a 1.6
