The HSCC Oulton Park Gold Cup

25th and 26th August 2013

Theyre having two display car areas this year:
1. Pre-1980 cars
2. 1980 cars onward

Everyone who is bringing a car for display will be entitled to a car pass, which will admit the driver free of charge (any additional passengers will need to purchase tickets). Prices are:

£22 per adult on the day (£18 booked in advance)
£15 per senior on the day (senior tickets are not available in advance)
Children 12 and under go free

Booking for these is via www.oultonpark.co.uk or by calling 0870 950 9000.

Camping is available to purchase at £25 per person (£17 in advance) regardless of length of stay.

Gates will open at 7am on each day.



please note....Im sure they will do the number plate thing again so be prepared to let me know in advance if you wish to come.....

This sounds interesting - I haven't been to a Gold Cup since 1974, back in Formula 5000 days!

Might well go for it this time - what is involved, in going along to park in a display area? It doesn't tie you to there unduly, does it? Think I'd want to wander around a bit during the day.

Which is the 'best' day to go, this year? I must have a look at the Oulton web page, to see what races they are listing.

Just been on the Oulton website and see notice, thus:

"CALLING ALL CAR CLUBS!

We are celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Oulton Park circuit on August Bank Holiday weekend (25th and 26th) and we're looking for car clubs to join in the festivities. Hundreds of historic cars will take over Oulton Park for the legendary Gold Cup race meeting, a celebration of speed, racing and automotive history.

Car clubs will receive one free admission ticket per car to the famous event and their own club area to show off their special machinery to fellow petrolheads. Car clubs should email goldcup@msv.com to register their interest in attending.

The on-track action features some very special cars and some equally special drivers. Old rivalries will be resumed too as former Touring Car stars are expected to return to their faithful tin-tops in the Super Touring Car Trophy. Iconic British Touring Car Championship cars such the victorious Primera and superb Peugeot 406 should be on track.Classic Formula 3, Formula Ford and Ford 2000 cars that kick-started the careers of many a star driver are also in the line-up along with a wide variety of historic GT and sportscars.

A huge selection of entertainment and displays for the whole family will continue the fun away from the track. Flame-spitting group B rally car demonstrations, vintage bus tours of the historic track, Historic Kart Club racing, a trade village, car displays, spitfire flyovers, funfair and much more will all add to the celebration.

just get a ticket.......

as the usual meeting point has been knocked down I propose a rendezvous for the Sunday of say
10am...to leave at 10:30~11ish (no racing 'noise' until after noon on a Sunday....so nothing will be happening until then)....if you collect your ticket Sunday you can do what you wish on the Monday

Yes, thanks Gareth - I went along on Monday and enjoyed the event very much (think I had the only M100 there that day, tho lots of 'original' Elans scattered around the various car parx!)
