Two of the five kits are gone. It will be around 3 weeks after the other three kits are shipped before I will have enough pieces to make more kits.

I am pre-installing the first five kits on the test car so they will arrive completely assembled and ready to install.

I have now sold 3 kits. There are two kits still available NOW.

I will have more, soon, as I intend to offer cable kits for as long as they are needed, I just need to order components in small quantities which will run out periodically.

I have a huge credit card bill to pay down due to the testing phase, so almost all of the money is going to the banks.

I plan to keep 2 kits available once things calm down and I can get the suppliers organized. I will improve this if demand stays high, but I hope it doesn't.

I am assembling the kits and fitting them on the test car so it will take me a day or two after you order to box and ship your kit. I will try to get ahead of this as time permits.

I have ordered one of these from John. He has provided an excellent installation guide. Apart from brakes and oil changes I've never tackled a job like this before but I plan to give it a shot when I have a weekend free. Have a friendly mechanic at hand in case I run into difficulty. I'll take plenty of pics and try do do a decent write up from the point of view of a novice.

More cables arrived on Friday as well as a pile of adapter parts that now have to go out to be anodized.

Once they come back (around 7 days), I will be able to supply FIVE more kits if anyone is in need or wants a winter project.

Hopefully, we will hear back from another buyer from the first group with their review of the kit and their observations.

Hi all,
I have reposted this from the no gear selection post because I believe some people may not have seen it.

Having now had Johns cables fitted and although I had to use the old gear lever assembly until the other one arrives, I have to give a big thumbs up to John.

I have been out on a 30 mile run and have had no problems at all. The gear selection is great although it feels different to what the Lotus cables felt like.It is hard to put into words but I will try.

The gear change feels more solid and robust and you actually feel the selection being made. I was quite happy with the original cables until they broke, but the gear change always felt a little imprecise especially 5th gear, but if Johns cables had felt the same, I would still have been more than happy, but they don,t, they feel are much better.

With the old cables you would aim it at 5th rather than select 5th, but with Johns you have to give a definite forward across and forward movement to select 5th from 4th, which is no problem, in fact it is how a gear ghange should feel.

As you select a gear you feel the lever come against a stop once it is selected, which I do not remember feeling before, this makes it feel so much more precise.

So I certainly recommend Johns cables, and a big thank you John you have really helped me out of the s**t, to be honest I am glad the cable broke as I now have a far better system.

Being a bit compulsive, I have been quietly correcting and tweaking the installation guide.

Fixed some typos and added a few clarifications to instructions. Those that have purchased cables should probably look at the guide again and consider downloading the PDF version.

The Short Shift Adapter Kit is making progress.

I have what I consider to be "fair" quotes for laser cutting the blanks for both adapters and as soon as my bank account catches up with the shift cable costs, I will get those pieces made and will start to assemble kits.

They will have to be "Special Order" since there will need to be different variations depending on which shift cables you will be using.

I have figured out solutions for Stock, A-B, Bob B. and now my own cables.

I haven't looked at a solution for anyone that converted to GEO Storm cables or any other solutions.
I would be happy to consider any odd cable set-up as long as you can send me specific details and a few pictures.

I am following the plans for Dave's Short Shift Kit version 2. Thank you for the details, Dave.

I found the very short wrenches that came with my A-B Cables set to be helpful so decided I needed some to offer when people wanted a cable kit.

I didn't offer them until now since I wasn't sure I could find an affordable supplier.

It took a while, but I found a company that will laser cut them and they should be here by December 6.

I am not going to get them plated as they are a one-use tool and I want to keep the price as low as possible.

I expect a pair of wrenches will cost $10.00 if ordered with a kit.

Anyone that already bought a kit and wants a set, contact me and I will work out a price with shipping.

If the current buyers in the UK want some, maybe we can post a few sets at once to reduce the cost of postage.

I will put up some pictures as soon as I get to see what they produce.

They have long bits, blue bits and shiny bits and look good quality.
I'll let you know when I get a day to fit them.

Import duty hit me for £29... But still leaves them at a good price so not too bad.

Each set that reaches the UK was declared for the same price but each one was charged a different amount for VAT and Duty. Parcel Force seems to pull numbers out of a hat...

£27.04 is the lowest so far!
