Hi everyone,

Firstly, please accept my appologies for not updating sooner, but in my defence, time rushes past and individual days mean little to me now I'm retired

Anyway, I have chased up the manufacturer (who had a 3 week shut-down over Christmas - should have been 2, but such is life!).

I have heard back from them this morning and am told that the parts should be ready on Thursday (16/01/14).

As soon as I hear from them, I'll arrange collection and get them sent straight out.

I can also confirm that all of the first batch have been paid for, sent and received (the last set went to Jeemy this week once he got his paperwork sorted out).

Also, payments have been received from all on the second list (but cheques received have not yet been presented to the bank,and wont be until I have the units shipped to you - designed to minimise any grief in case of loss in postage etc, which I don't expect!).

Just an update, so you know I haven't forgotten this one and run off to an exotic destination with your money in my pocket......

I have (today) received an email to appologise for the delay, but saying that the shims are now cut and ready for collection.

That is the good news

The bad news is that due to unforseen circumstances, I'm not sure that my original plan to have them picked up is likely to occur very soon (other things are far more important), and I am NOT going to press for that to happen instantly.

So, if they can't be collkected on my behalf, I will make a trip up to Yate next week to collect them.

Either way, I fully expect them to be out to you by next weekend (end of January).

Thanks again for your patience during the unseen delays (I knew the first batch worked out far to well to be repeatable!).

Anyway, we have a further update....


The shims have been collected from manufacturer, and handed on to another person in a busy shopping mall (just like in all the best spy movies)....

...they should end up about 10 miles from me by this evening....

...Once I have made a phone call using the correct pass-phrase, I hope to be given directions to a secret rendezvous...

...then, fully reconnoitering the locality, I hope to collect an un-marked package and return to base.

Once there, I hope to check the merchandise for quantity and quality, and then prepare them for onward supply to the end users.....


okay then - I'll pick them up and post them out!

This wouldn't have been a problem if I'd also not deleted the spreadsheet I had with the addresses on it
