Whoa!!! A success, or so I believe. I won't be sure until it's been on the road and all gears are working, but static on ramps I would appear to have a very smooth 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th. 5th seems to connect but a little more stiffly (so perhaps there is some adjustment to be made there) and reverse won't engage, but the texts suggest that without synchromesh on that gear this is not unexpected.

I have no pics but this is because mine would be so typical of everyone else's and so are irrelevant.

Observations I can make are that:

1. I fixed both of the cables (marked yellow (cross gate) and red (fore/aft) at both ends) into the shift bracket, removed the eyelet connectors from the gearbox ends and wrapped the gearbox ends into a cone of paper (without the ends you can get a much better point which helps in feeding the cables through), I then removed the paper cone, and reattached the connectors to the appropriate lengths to fit the levers.

2. I felt that there was a lot of play in the ball joint of the selector. I wonder if others have thought/found this!

Thanks to you all for your patient help. :burnout:
