Wilwood 16" brake kits is in stalled, just waiting for the braided brake pipes to be sorted, they look so Kool. Changing the pads is a doddle, just one split pin holding them in place. Quality ;D

Agree 100%, that's why I almost always work on my car. Shops don't give a crap plus you get to examine every part & decide if an "intervention" or upgrade or restoration is necessary elsewhere. Just beware, as I spent 14-hours straight leaning forward to finish the front suspension (stripping, painting included) in 1 day and the next woke up with a herniated (bulging) disc. I'm finally on the road to recover which I really have the gal in physical therapy to thank as she explained things to me in a way that I finally have some control over my own recovery. The doctor, even after X-rays, exam, & all info was in just said wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am, take this script, goodbye. Not a help & a lot of suffering for me which could have been avoided.
Strive for perfection in everything. (given time)
Take the best that exists & make it better. (given inclination)
If it doesn't exist, create it. (God did)
Ignore what I say. (good advice)

Monty,

Be really careful working under that car! I see it isn't just that scissor jack holding it up, but is it stable on that collection of patio slabs?? ;D When I did this job I found the heaving and shoving required to undo the bolts and get it apart required the car to be very well secured. I have an impact wrench now which is a godsend but you've got to be careful with these things! Also, are you certain that arse-end of the chassis is up to the task of supporting the car's weight? When I did it I, like you, used the jacking points to lift it, but then added the extra stability and safety by spreading the load with a plank along the main chassis box forward of the rear suspension.

Or just buy a 4-post lift. ::)

Candles.

I know what u mean but it`s well secure and better than using axle stands + the drive is on a slope :o but i have no choice ::) The manual says this section can be used for placing axle stands, mine u i`ll have to move them so i can clean up that section and get it painted.

Got one side of the suspension of today in between rain and hail >:(

The left one is so rusty that seems like part of a ship wreckage laying deep deep at the bottom of an ocean for decays, the Titanic perhaps?

Thank God you replaced it Monty!
Monty, just a thought, but while you are there why not take a wire brush (on a drill for ease) to those threads and nuts and clean off the rust and hit with a touch of clearcoat !! :-*

Lovely otherwise!

Part of my job is to use high tech methods (including carbon fibers) and restore very old big buildings in oder to grant them longer life. There are countless methods to restore all the rusty steell in the concrete and also to prevent further damage. I cant believe there is no way to be applied on a car....

Sorry Monty... for beeing Out of topic, so I shall stop here...

Ok all rear suspension has been removed, Just got to clean, treat and paint the chassis. ::)

I`ve also noticed there`s a adjustment bolt (inboard) on the bottom wishbone, but only on the one bolt. Must be for tracking (toe in toe out). I`ve taken photos so i know what positon they were in.
