If you haven't watched this video, it's worth 3 minutes of your time. Really cool and well made effects showing the difference between 2013 and 2014 F1 cars.

Can't open that for some reason.

F1 has lost the plot, 2 races in and it's even more boring than last year. Paddy Lowe was interviewed after the Malaysian GP and said the this is an efficiency formula and later on he goes on to say that it is just the same as it always was. :banghead:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWGP45sW4kY

What planet is this muppet on? F1 has been declining for years, I really think they have hit the bottom now.

I don't want an efficiency formula, I want to see great cars, amazing engines and racing!! I don't want power packages, drivers being told to slow down to save fuel or tyres (WTF?), DRS, KERS or Germans with dodgy or illegal, devices on their cars so they can win multiple WDC's.

Most circuit records were set in 2004 with those awful grooved tyres that were the start of the rot,the cars were fantastic though. This is JPM thrashing a V10 Williams around Spa. Lowe, Bernie, Todt and his and their mates need to be strapped to a chair and made to watch this repeatedly until they get the message.

Hmm - hasn't F1 always been about the extremes of motorsport's technological advancement? These days, that means fuel efficiency and I welcome the new changes this year. To each his own of course, and I understand missing the bigger engines and louder noise. But I like it thus far. And it's great to see King Vettel taken off his throne.

Having been a fan of Indy and earlier Cart racing for many years, do you honestly think that the Indy series or NASCAR would allow their rules to be watered down to the level that F1 has become?

Why not have F1 Toyota Prius racing? Whoops, sorry Bernie, we already have that.

Why on earth should fans of F1 (in my case for over 30 years) have to put up with this? What is there to like? :?:

Efficient cars? Got one of those, an Alfa diesel, 50+ mpg. What is this formula doing for me?

As for Vettel, have a look on you tube or google for Giancarlo Minardi or Martin Brundle commenting on his car. Traction control? Hmmmmm

Amazing how certain drivers have/had problems with rule changes. These were often to stop cheating and ban illegal devices, both mutiple WDC's can't/couldn't cope with rule changes, - Hmmmmmmmmm!!

You can't keep getting faster while maintaining good racing. Remember active suspension? If we still had that, cars would be a good few seconds quicker per lap but the race result would be virtually all about engineers & pit stops. Drivers would have very little influence.

2004.. - Would you like to go back to fuel stops? I thought they were the worst idea ever.

Life in general is a lot more pollution-conscious now than it has ever been.
Check out the following article.
For an extreme example of this check out this article , which strikes an acutely raw nerve with me because I have been there many times. Bear in mind these 2 facts:
The stadium in question is 2 miles from an RAF tanker base & directly on the flight path. A departing plane is a lot noisier than a 747 & completely drowns out the sound of the sport.
The only way to the couple's house is right past the stadium, which is clearly marked. There is no way they can miss it & therefore no way they did not know about it when they moved in.

With ridiculous complaints like the above jeopardising motor sport, it is understandable that F1 must adapt.

What a great race - it's a pity that Bahrain was one of the ones where we only got to see the highlights on the BBC.
OK, so it was all compressed into a shortened programme, but it seemed as though it was packed with wheel-to-wheel racing throughout the field.
The Hamilton/Rosberg duel was just fantastic - some of the best nip-and-tuck action I've ever seen in F1, and the rest of the top 10 was almost as good.
If that's the sort of spectacle that these new torquier engines can deliver while developing technology that will filter down to our cars, then I can live with a bit of reduced volume!

The rest of the race was not far behind the highlights. I was one of the best I can remember watching.
Kudos to Mercedes for letting Hamilton & Rosberg race. Well done to both drivers for being aggressive without colliding.

I loved it, too. I always watch the complete race but sometimes zone out during the final 3rd as the field spreads out and the finishing order becomes apparent. But this race was action and passing throughout. Shame about BBC coverage - you can always torrent the full race afterwards if you're willing to wait a few hours or a day to watch it.

Being totally fed up with what F1 has become and as Bahrain is generally a boring race, for the first time ever, I didn't make an effort to watch it. I did get back to the hotel to see the last 10 laps on Belgian TV though.

Great racing all the way through the field and the leaders actually fighting for the win, something I have not seen for a long time. Even RBR seem to have realised what most of us knew, that Vettel is nothing special, it was the car! Dan Ricciardo is really doing really well and I hope he is allowed to continue to show us what he can do.

Fingers crossed that the next race is as interesting. Don't forget "one swallow doesn't make a summer" (or a relationship :D )

Okay, that was a pretty good race. Exciting, serious changes in position from start to finish. Very enjoyable.

One thing I'm enjoying this season is the smug smile wiped off Vettel's face. And Hamilton's

Not a Red Bull fan but so happy to see Dan Ricciardo win. Vettel really being shown up for the lucky chancer that he is.

Second race in a row that (D)Rosberg is getting the best of questionable decisions by the stewards but somehow that is no surprise.

A good race though, would like to have seen more of the action behind the leaders.

I agree with this. Ricciardo looked like he would never leave the podium, such was his deserved state of euphoria.

I was impressed by Vettel, though. He was extremely sportsmanlike in his congratulations to Ricciardo. For a 'born winner', that must have been really hard.

I don't think his off in Monaco was conclusive enough to impose a penalty.
His excursion in Montreal was though. He clearly would have lost the place to Hamilton so should have given the place back or be penalised.
Brundle suggested the new 5 seconds extra during his pit stop. That should have been sufficient.

My opinion is that leaving the track should be an instant disqualification. Maybe not for just one wheel but certainly for all 4.
They can't leave the track at many places in Monaco without damaging the car so they have no excuses.
