Easter Sunday in the Highlands

It's a bit of a trek for most folks but we're having a meeting at Gairnshiel Lodge (http://www.gairnshiellodge.co.uk) at 1pm on 20 April, Easter Sunday.
If you're not tucking into a big family lunch with boring relatives then why not come along and try out some of our fantastic mountain roads.

Tell Lorna I'll be very disappointed if she doesn't drive over the road between us - a true Lotus driver should never pass up the chance of driving the Tomintoul pass!

Just North of the big Arch that you can drive through in Fettercairn (You can’t miss it) there is a roundabout, just North of this is a car park where we’ll meet up. It’s on the B974 Cairn O’Mount road.

Hi Scott, we don't live in the Lodge anymore so there will be no-one there on Saturday Night. You could have stayed with us in Aboyne but my Mum has dibs on the spare room.
Ballater has a good Camp/caravan park?

we had a great run today in very good weather. Only one car broke down, my m100! Yellow engine light came on and now it won't start.
I'll post some photos later.
Where were all the M100's? Hang your heads in shame!

Thanks for a fantastic day. Your hospitality was as generous as ever - please thank Justine and your mother for the fantastic spread. We had a great time. The weather was superb - not a cloud in the sky, and it was good to see so many different Lotuses. It seems to be a different selection every meeting. This time we had nice Esprits (most especially yours - how on earth did you persuade Justine to let you???), Elises, Eclate, Europas, Elans etc, but no old Elans or +2s that we usually get. A nice mix of locals and people from as far away as the Capital.

I've included a few photos to show the great road from Fettercairn to Cairn O'Mount (I'd never driven it all the way to Gairnsheil before - fantastic), your beautiful Esprit (and you finally locating - with Scott's help - where they put the engine), and some general shots of the cars at Gairnsheil. I didn't realise you got adders this far north - I'll be more careful in future.

You say that your Elan has a CEL. It must have been at the end when you/Scott were going to leave, because it was going pretty well up the Cairn O'Mount road. I hope it's nothing much - let me know if I can help (I have various bits).

I'm sorry that we didn't get a chance to say thanks and goodbye, but you, John and the Esprit were all missing when we left. You must have been out for a run trying to persuade John to buy your old Esprit.

Great photos John. I was too busy trying to find the engine on the esprit to take many myself
It was a great run, mostly cycle/caravan/sunday driver free!
Come around and see us soon so we can have a real chat. The boys wanted me to thank Maggie for their chocolate buttons.
Does the yellow engine warning light normally come on when turning over the engine? I can't remember.

I've just found a kit with codes that came from the LEC stand one year so I'll try that tomorrow.

Looks like a good day. Disappointed not to make it especially as it could have been roof down all the way.

Seems we are both having problems, K plate Elan was puffing steam out the bonnet on Thursday night, got home to find the pressure cap sitting on the chassis member behind the expansion tank. So spent today checking it out, think either the cap was not on properly or is broken as no symptoms of HGF.

Hopefully your CEL is an easy fix
