Just about to set-off, just need to fill-up.

Will be meeting Iain en-route down the M1 and if I have my timings right should get to the Community Park just before 09:30.

Just returned home from this event and it was excellent despite the weather. Good to meet up with some old faces from LEC and yes I got some stick for having the top up but I was preempting the rain  There were 10 elans at the meeting point but sorry didn't get a photo shot :!: Looked good all driving into MBW together, with tops down.

Something to consider next year, well organised and plenty of variety of Lotus cars.

Wholeheartedly agree Trevor, was a great event :D and the roof should have been down  as it wasn't raining. First time I've driven with the roof up on the way back in ages

:agree:

Good to see several LECers again. Excellent venue: plenty to see at MBW and warm, clean and dry inside. Must have spent millions creating it : no wonder their cars are so expensive!!

Tidy, dust free parking, museum nearby and well organised. Thanks TLF.

Hood down all the way there, definitely up all the way home. And car ran really well for it's first outing of the year, despite the awful rain and spray.

Geoff many thanks for your number: much appreciated!

A Great day :) ,we didn't let the weather beat us, although it would have been better if the rain wasn't so persistent, as it kept us away from our cars

Many thanks to Bibs and his crew

Good to see all the old face's, sorry I didn't get time to talk to everyone, hopefully I will at future events

It all turned into a shower cap show

Must get better seals

Is that the Wellington they fished out of Loch Ness and had in Brooklands a few years ago? What's it doing in a Mercedes showroom?

It is still at Brooklands: right next door to MBW. They share the same carpark......

Plenty of both MBW & Brooklands museum are inside so this ensured that the weather was only a minor annoyance.

Thanks to TLF for organising it.
I felt that Donington was getting a little stale. This gave us plenty of other things to do instead of wandering around the car park several times looking at each other's cars.

Here are a couple of my favorite pics from the day.
elans 2.jpg

Despite the weather I have to say my first lotus event was pretty good. It was nice to meet a few fellow LECers and I was impressed how many other Lotus enthusiasts/public turned up in the wet.

and I know this isn't a lotus but its pretty impressive. Hopefully the event will happen again next year :)

Not sure about that. Donington's biggest problem was using the same format every year.
The LEC convoy in was one of the highlights, usually with 40+ Elans.
Well done to Bibs for coming up with this event & arranging it, but I believe it will not be as good second time around.
