Mirror came loose.

Looks like where the mirror clips into the cross pivot on the rear has come off. seems where it snaps in small piece broken. where can i get a replacement side mirror.

Maybe Lotus Aftersales, C100U0316F is a Right Hand LHD mirror assembly with convex glass - 24.39GBP.

I believe the carrier is the same for either side, but you would probably want to get a flat glass if you need the driver's side.

I have not been able to identify who made them for Lotus and they are definitely NOT the same as GM cars (they are similar but the sizes of the pins and crosses are radically smaller).

The only other option is to find a used one at a breaking yard or from another owner.

you can get them made for $2.30 in stainless......
although probably gone up in price since......but as the min spend was $25 then it wouldn't really matter....
but at least youd have spares.....

The problem is the PLASTIC tray that the mirror is attached to and the CROSS PIVOT snaps into has broken. He is not asking for the threaded pivot pins.

If anyone is looking for the actual pins:

Wayne has some of the actual pins but the stainless version completely eliminates easy "push in" design of the floating tooth/teeth in the pin and will possibly damage the threaded "nut" in the actuating mechanism.

Get the nylon or similar polymer version and pack the void with a non-rotting bit of foam to expand the teeth to best grip the female threads in the actuator. The foam will provide a bit of compression "spring" to allow the teeth to step in one thread at a time so they don't scar the female threads.

The replacement are much stiffer than the originals so the original brass leaf spring will not properly set the pressure on the teeth to make them work correctly.

I have been working with an order I placed years ago and kind of lost interest when I found a bunch of brand new pins at an old dealer.

Yes the pins and pivot are fine it's the plastic tray part that snaps into the pivot that has broken.

I realize it's not the issue in this thread, but I've had a stainless pin on my car for 4 years or whatever it's been, with dozens of insertions and removals, and it has been just fine. I think the tips of the threads are rounded enough that they don't damage the nut.

still can't find a mirror anyone? thought some place you could buy these. the plastic tray part that clips the mirror to the pivot broke the x pivot is fine and mirror is loose. need a fix.

Help everyone out a bit and say which side you need. Flat glass (Driver's side) or convex glass (Passenger's side).

Since the passenger side mirror is usually convex, you have to consider swapping the glass to a replacement backing if you don't scrounge one with the correct glass already.

They were in stock a couple of weeks ago.
Who did you email to get that kind of response? A real dealer can answer right away about availability as long as you don't want more than 10 pieces - the order system only confirms up to qty 10 without a phone call.

Update: It arrived Friday and I was surprised it was the entire assembly for the mirror wiring housing ect ect not just the mirror itself.. cool. anyway sold the car and will be sending it to him.
