:goodposting:

Reversing on to the track at Monaco was clear enough for me, illegal under any rules.

This is a very interesting article.

What a tit Hamilton is for not giving the final lap a go!
As Rosberg pointed out, they had nothing to lose so no reason to give up.

What a race . Great result for British motorsport .

Was hoping that Riccardo's tyres were going to go off . 0.8 seconds behind was JB .. almost made the podium . And as for Kimi ... my god what a high impact shunt . Massa was lucky not to get collected up in that .

I've never been a particularly big fan of Massa, but after yesterday's avoiding actions he's my new hero!
Great spectacle for Britain - something to be proud of this Summer.

I agree about Massa. He reacted really well to reduce the impact between himself & Raikkonen.
As for the harder tyres being quicker, that caught everyone out. It would have been interesting to see if Hamilton would have passed Rosberg without the gearbox failure.
There seem to be a lot more reliability issues this year & that's great for viewing. :-D
Maybe teams (Mercedes in particular) are going the Chapman route of sacrificing safety margins for increased performance?

jules drives Ferarri at Silverstone test and tops the time sheets.
I wonder how long Kimi will actually keep that seat.

Good job by Bianchi. L.d.M has said that he is happy with the driver line up, so maybe next year. I don't think cry baby Vettel did himself any favours with the Ferrari management this weekend either.

Not too impressed with the 18 inch wheels, looks like they are trying to appeal to the modded Nova/Saxo/barry boys market.

Anyone else looking forward to giving Formula E electric racing a try? I love F1 and am a huge electric car fan. Seems like a great synergy and could really lead to battery improvements if the series takes off.

I like this: Telemetry is not permitted.

But this?

Meanwhile, and purely for reasons of safety, an artificial sound will be used when the cars enter the pit lane to ensure they can be heard by mechanics and officials. This will be produced with the aid of an expert sound designer.

Looks like basic braking & steering, not much of an advance there. For the rest, pretty much meh for me,

Top Gear defined electric cars:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kIS4J0XUO0

If you live in a city, great, in the real world - useless.

They also came up with a solution, blindingly obvious and one that no manufacturer has tried to refine so far.

I've had an electric car as my main vehicle now for about 15 months and love it to pieces. I am looking at a Tesla for later this year if the dollars work out for me. Top Gear was wrong :)

Went to my first Grand Prix ever on Sunday, great day seeing Red Arrows and Lewis win but day got better when my wife's friend pull off 2 pit passes straight after the race.
Seeing Lewis from 10 ft away have team photos with the trophy was amazing. I was closer than Damon Hill!
Was given a tour of the Marussia pit but obviously couldn't take any photos deep inside other than Chilton's nose cone from lap one. Held a steering wheel and had it all explained. Then was left to walk around in the paddock for an hour chatting to celebs, Naomi even blanked me lol. Got to try and stay friends with him as he's Chief pit crew for Marussia.
Wife now wants to do another this year like Singapore and I'm a fan again

Gazza - WOW! that sounds AMAZING!!

I'm going to Austin this year in November, my first race. My wife will be wrangling the kids at the children's museum and the park so I'm on my own that day.

Nice one Gazza.

I did Spa a couple of years ago and am hoping to go again this year. For anyone thinking of going, get the Bronze ticket, this gives you access to the whole track except for the grandstands. This means you can get to visit almost every corner and there are plenty of refreshment stalls on the way round.

Does Massa seem to alway be in the wrong place at the wrong time or what ?

he seems to have a magnetism to accidents ( or is it him?)

Lewis was on a charger though wasn't he !.

Another good race though ..

That was the best Hungarian GP I have seen.

Only marred by the actions of Mercedes and a certain whinging so called German. "Why is he not letting me through?" This clown is turning into a bigger cry baby than Vettel! Great answer from Lewis though "I'll let him through if he gets closer, I'm not slowing down for Nico, get close and then he can overtake me," He was quite right not to let him pass. :D

Drossberg couldn't overtake Vergne either, so resorted to trying to get him a drive through penalty by telling the stewards that JEV wasn't slowing down enough driving past an accident. A-hole! :banghead: Maybe Drossberg should watch the video of Lewis overtaking JEV, that's how to do it.

Lauda has supported Lewis but the rest of the team management seem to love their untalented, only there for his name, Finnish/Monegasque driver!

So after NR cheating (twice) a mysterious car failure, brake failure and fire for Lewis it looks like Merc are not even trying to hide their bias. I hope Lewis has some good life insurance because I dread to think what Toto and the boys are going to do to him next.

Once again, brilliant driving by Dan Ricciardo (is there anyone who still believes Vettel is special?) Lewis and Fernando Alonso, even Jenson managed to lead for a few laps, maybe could have had a podium had McClaren not screwed up the forecast so badly.

I was just about to buy tickets for Spa, scheduled to be on nights in Belgium that Sunday, but just realised I will be at a family get together in Ireland that weekend. :bonk: Then again, lots of :drunk: to compensate.
