I've been mulling this over for a few weeks now and at the risk of "dropping the match in the firework box" and there being no new developments I though I would air my views.
Its over a year now since Fredjohn raised the perennial subject of seal availability. BCN and Wayne then took up the challenge and said developments were under way.
I and others pledged our undying love and support for their efforts and in July were rewarded with pictures or a mould for the falling pilar seal, a tremendous effort and well on the way to production.
Now the tricky bit and I have no personal connection to anybody involved except as a fellow enthusiast.
Another member came up with a seal solution- heated words were exchange and unfortunate positions taken.
What I find most disappointing in the whole saga was how quickly the original seal design and material was rubbished by some (we all know it is far from perfect) and this, along with other factors I am not privy to, contributed to BCN/Wayne pulling the plug on the project.
Not, I think our finest hour ladies and gentlemen.
Do I need new seals? Not at present but certainly in the not too distant future.
Can I DIY them? Not to a good enough standard.
We were so close to having a reliable supply of seals being produced by two fellow enthusiasts with a proven track record of quality parts that surely it behoves us all to try to get this project moving forward again in some form or another.
As I sit here with my finger poised over the submit button I would like to state that this is meant only as a constructive post to encourage this aim and I hope it is received by all as such
