Gosh - that has come round fast ('cos we delayed the August meet-up).

I'll be there, all things being equal.

It's top down weather here too, blue sky all day, but probably not quite so hot. I'll save the fairy cakes for October...
Off to Broadway to see Tour of Britain on Wed (10th), I am expecting hood down :D :burnout:

This displaced ex-Brummy is intending to drop in, as it's so local (98.4 miles according to Mr Google-Map).

I intend to join you, it'll be the longest outing I've had in two years so garnering some courage! I need to rebuild my confidence a bit.

I'm assuming it is still the Coach & Horses in Weatheroak. The link has failed so can someone confirm the postcode please.

Pete,

it's B48 7EA.....

...google gives me 2 reasonable options - M5, M42, off at J3......... or M5 to J9, then A46 to the same M42 junction.

At the moment I'm favouring the A46 (to avoid some of the M5 roadworks, and hey, it's an A road!).

Both routes are under 2 hours (and within 10 mins of each other), so I am open to persuasion if you want to try and meet up somewhere....

(I'm looking to leave home at about 1730ish)

Thanks Dave, I was thinking of going a little earlier in an attempt to miss some of the traffic, what say you?

Incidentally, I'm one way only as I'm going further north later!

What sort of time are you looking at? I can be flexible if it suits me!

Ok, stick to your original timings, you chose the route. Where can we meet and at what time?

Pete,

All timings taken from Google, so may or may not be right!!!

if you are looking to come across to the M5, then the obvious meeting place is Michelwood North (which is 40 mins for me, so I can be there at 1810hrs)...

... then I'll be at J9 (Tewkesbury) 31 mins later (there's a petrol station about 50 yards up the A46 towards Evesham - wrong side of the road, but okay to get to)....

...52 minutes from there to the pub....

However, if you are looking at a more scenic drive (up the Fosseway or whatever), then I can meet you somewhere on whatever route YOU decide on (either by sticking to my first bit and catching you on A46, or by diverting East earlier)

In the Absence of any decision, I will base my journey on LEAVING Michelwood at 1800 hrs.... this should allow enough leaway for any issues.

As ever, all times are approximate - and you're usually playing 'catch up' on any trip we do!!!!

Well, I'm staggered: 5...yes....5 attendees!

Well done to dapinky and epipete for making the trek northwards - great to meet you both.

And well done to tb10 for persevering and finally ending up at the right pub (last) despite living the closest.....

And well done to FredJohn for being the stalwart that you are :)

And here is the photographic evidence:

:agree:

Indeed, twas good to meet you all yesterday and, yes, driving the Elan is such good fun it would have been wrong to just drive the ** cough cough ** 8 miles there without the obligatory detour whilst checking out other similar named pubs!

Great chat, nice beer, whens the next one?

Positively overwhelmed with people this month. Good to see everyone and hope for the odd extra one next month. (Yes I know: Geoff's coming!) 2nd Thursday of the month so 9th Oct.

As there were 5 of us and the pic only shows 4 cars: turn it round and look on the back: TB10 was parked behind the photographer.

Reminder the pub is the Coach and Horses, NOT the nearby Horse and Jockey........................... :bonk:

A good evening out. Thanks to John for organising it (or was it Martin?).

Anyway, I'm glad i went for the A46 route - much better for the elan than the M5/M42 - even though there was too much traffic to really enjoy it on the way there. It was much better on the trip home :burnout: .

I managed to get as far as the M5J9 before sucumbing to have to put the roof up - I should have brought my wooly hat with me :?

Got in at half past midnight, so not too bad.
